Do you have/Want to have tattoos?
Posted 5/14/13
I will get tattoos that have significant meanings to me. Simply because I will have that inked on me for the rest of my life and I want my tattoos to be some sort of story about my life, even though it is only a design/image/symbol.

I don`t know if I could get a tattoo that has no meaning just because 'it looks cool or nice'.

Getting a tattoo is a contemptible act and anyone who seriously considers the matter should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Why one would wish to sully and defile what would be, normally, a beautiful body with such a hideous and disgusting permanent scar -- I do not understand.

I would implore anyone who contemplates getting a tattoo or piercing, for that matter, of any kind to seriously reconsider their actions. Their wish to be "edgy" or "cool" will be a complete failure, the detriment to their attractiveness withstanding.

Get a tattoo because you want to get a tattoo. The opinions of other people do not matter whatsoever when it comes to your body, you can do whatever you want with it. But if you're going to get one, make sure it's something that has significant meaning to you. Don't just get one for the hell of it. You'll regret doing so and be stuck with something you didn't really want and spend money on removing it.

I want a Maori tattoo, not just because it looks awesome, but because it can tell the story of your life and I've always been fascinated with Maori culture.

If you already have a tattoo, what is it and where is it ( there are obvious places that shouldn't be mentioned)?

I wanted a tattoo before but I realized I was so indecisive because I hate anything permanent so I decided to stil with peircings.

I want one, but probably won't get one anytime soon. Mostly due to the fact that I don't know what I want the tattoo to be. Like has been said before, if I get one it has to be something meaningful.

I have a rat sitting under a leaf on my left wrist. It's a memorial to my boy-o Eye Patch. He was the sweetest little pet I've ever had the pleasure of owning. He was hilarious, thoughtful, adventurous and a total snuggle butt.

I got a ghetto tattoo at 17...and I really do mean ghetto. My friend took me to this guys' house. He was a former gangbanger who got shot in the back and was bound to a wheelchair. He'd spent several years in state prison and when he was released, ended up on SSI because he couldn't walk. He'd taken up tattooing to pass the time in prison and learned how to build a tat machine. He used underarm deodorant to copy the design onto my arm and then used a tat machine made out of an old Bic pen, guitar string, and a tiny motor off of something. I think he said it was off an old walkman. At 17, I thought it was cool to have and it kind of was. Most of my classmates were like "Whoa! that's real!" As an adult though, I am just glad I got it somewhere I can hide it. I think I have grown allergic to the ink he used as occasionally, it will swell up and get puffy. Nothing too bad, but it can get aggravating at times. I never gotten another tattoo since.

All I have to say is if you do get one, don't just do it on whim. Think about it for a few days because once it's on you, it's on you for life. Sure, you can get them removed with laser surgery, but that process is expensive and even afterward, you can still see the outline of the removed tat. Get it somewhere you can cover it up. I say this because even though it's wrong for people to judge you over a tat, it still happens all the time and you might find difficulty getting a job in the future. They are more mainstream nowadays, but there is still a slight stigma attached to them.

Since I was 16 I knew I wanted a tattoo of a mixtape somewhere. When I was 24 and graduating college, I decided it was finally time, mostly because by then I could afford it and there wasn't anything more immediately pressing. I have a half-sleeve on my upper right arm of a cascade of waves with a mixtape, the tape spilling out and tangling on a broken vinyl record in the shape of Dave's emblem-- Dave the character from Homestuck.

I don't regret it, but I also really took my time on this one. I think my next tattoo in a year or two will involve the Griever from Final Fantasy 8. I figure I'll eventually be covered in them, but I want to take my time so I don't use up all my 'real estate' too quickly.

No, it looks painful and it's expensive.

Plus I've regretted every major decision I've ever made so..

They do 'fake' Maori tattoos for people who are not Maori. They reserve the real symbolism for Maori people only. The ones gotten by nonMaoris have really no meaning they are just a cool design.

Ehh see ive always personally wanted one, but I cant think of anything that is so meaningful to me that I want it there permanently. The only thing I ever thought about really tattooing on me was the incuse from pandora hearts xD.

I wasnt seriously going to do it, I just thought the full revolution of it looked really cool. However when im older I know that id probably regret that so I think ill just not get one unless there is something so striking and tempting that I come across I cant help myself.
