Whatever. I'll take any reason I can to motivate America's women to diet and exercise. Almost all the girls I knew from HS have now morphed into "SSBBW" aka morbidly obese :P

I have noticed this too, I could never see the advantage to being so huge. I think some people need to understand gravy is not a beverage.

I would love to have a thigh gap. But it seems no amount of exercise can lead me to that goal.
It did lead me, however, to have Kim Kardashian thighs. So it's all good.

One time when I was watching Supersize vs. Superskinny, the doctor guy there said that having too much of a "thigh gap" is actually a sign of malnutrition.. Lol

As an artist, I've noticed dozens upon dozens of tutorials teaching to draw the female figure. Most of them will almost certainly mention that women have thigh gaps--making the claim that every woman is going to have one. It's worrying that the thigh gap obsession has made its way into art! I think people should start learning to love their own bodies and that media needs to stop providing "beauty standards" and start showcasing everyone of all body types in a positive light. You don't need to view yourself in a thin window of "would someone want to have sexual relations with me?" over your body, and nobody should be advocating for that.

Also, a tip for some of the males in this thread: please don't assume that the only reason why young girls try to change their bodies is for boys; many times she just wants to be happy in her own body. It is great that you have preferences for whom you want to date, but it's not necessarily going to change much >m<

I think I've come to realize my own bias through these comments. People are unjustifiably assuming things and using that as a basis for insults. Expecting people to believe that your standard of beauty is "real beauty". How about you quit telling them what to do? So what if I think I look better thinner, so what if I think I look less dead with foundation on. I don't need someone to tell me out rightly that I do because I have eyes.

"Oh but I like curvy girls more--"
"She looks sick--"

what is that suppose to fucking accomplish? Therefore I should get bigger

"Oh but I like skinny girls--"
"She looks obese"

Are you suppose to be different from everyone else? "Do this and that because that's what I like" the message is the same. "but but but I care about their health, I can tell she's too fat/skinny" No you don't fucking care, and no you can't tell. I need to be "self actualized" because someone told me so? please.

Well you could say that asking about this thigh obsession and why they are all into the whole yolo/ swag fad are the same thing. The best I can say about the thigh thing is thats whats currently popular I guess. Even though I'm a teen, even I have no idea whats going through their minds at times.

Honestly, live how you wanna live. Be skinny or be fat, it's that individuals body. Schools give enough PSAs to students about being happy with their bodies, so why care now? Unless you're a parent of an obese or anorexic child.

You people are just trying to hard to be contrarians. Just admit it and stop trying to be different for once in your life. Thigh gaps are factually more sexually appealing than a lack of aforementioned. There is no refuting fact. Your opinion is wrong

This is the dumbest comment of the day. 10001001

Yes, it is pretty silly. I figured I'd have angry people telling me how dumb I was and I'd keep replying back for fun. But it didn't work. You're the only one who took the bait.

Just wanted to add onto my comment: Not everything is about men.
Therefore, stating your preferences is a lot more harmful than it is helpful. This is because you are still trying to mandate a standard of beauty, which is what causes problems like these in the first place. You may certainly prefer some things over others, but that is your business, NOT the business of the women who are starving themselves sick and dead. What you are doing is shifting the focus to you. It may be helpful to a few people to know that you would more readily appreciate their bodies, but in the end it does little to resolve the problem.

Instead, you may want to try addressing the real issues here, like the fact that there are people of both genders who are unable to live with their bodies and are forcing themselves to change that in unhealthy and dangerous ways. The people you prefer to date don't matter in this situation! You want to help these people accept their bodies for what they are, and that will never start with you telling people like me what to do with my own body.

I am sorry if that sounds angry and that this forum is a little old now, but it was seriously ticking me off. I understand I will undoubtedly offend people with what I've said, but I've seen the effects of what your attempts at help do. In the end, they don't help, so please try to switch your methods and develop a deeper understanding of these ridiculously unnecessary issues in society.

Apparently it's not the legs at all, it's the gap in between the leg that is so sexy. -Face palm-
