I think it's complete bullshit that people are still against gay marriage, or even that homosexuality is out there, and are trying to stop it.
It's their business if they want to get married or not. Not yours.
It exists, people. They are indeed human beings. Deal with it.

Ok for the people saying this is a "fad", it is because gay marriage is being debated at the supreme court now, so people are showing their support. I'm sure once this finally passes it will become no more of an issue than interracial marriages. There will always be people against it, but overtime their voices will fade away until they are nothing more than laughable outcasts of society.

i support i completely support even wrote a paper for one of my college English classes why it should be legalized. i have both friends and family that are lesbian or gay. They have every right to be happy and declare their love through marriage; as well as having all the rights that straight couples have.

I don't care at all. I don't enjoy putting effort into causes, so I don't.

Are you a homosexual?

Gender doesn't matter to me, so, sort of.

Equality is vital to being American. You can't pick and choose what to be equal on. You are either all the way for it or you are all the way against it.

I'm a monthly supporter of the Human Rights Campaign. Also, since I'm gay I think that equality can't happen fast enough. I don't care if the push for equal protection under the law, including marriage equality, is considered a teen fad, or if we are recognized as the voices of a significant portion of the citizenry who have been subjected to institutionalized oppression for a shamefully long time. Today's teenage fangirls are tomorrow's voters, and are usually cuter and easier to agree with than an angry picketer wearing leather underwear.

By the way, this image in red and pink is a spin-off of the regular HRC logo, which is blue and yellow. So now you know how to recognize queers by our bumper stickers. It's like a secret handshake, only more colorful.

Gay marriage...not gonna happen till all the old and religious die out.

Personally, I don't care much about it.

I thought it was a pause symbol at first And yeah it doesn't matter if some people do it as a fad because in the end it's still another voice or another image representing support. More power to it. Also, even if someone starts something for the wrong reasons, they familiarize themselves with the nature of the subject which can affect the likeliness of sincere support in the future.

True enough actually. My parents are christian and while they don't go around opposing gay marriage, I know they firmly do not support and hope it doesn't get legalized. Now I do have a lot of friends who are very vocally supportive of the LGBT movement, and I swear half of my FB friends had this symbol as their profile image.

Here's where I think the misconception about gay marriage lies within the religious community. Most christians view marriage as a holy union between a male and a female. This belief is probably stronger than the belief that homosexuality is a sin, although the sin portion seems to be more popular these days. This line of thought traces back to the 16th century where in europe, people HAD to get married through the church. It was actually a very radical form of contractually binding two people.

The concept of "marriage" actually pre-dates recorded history, so I think most of the religious in this country are simply uninformed, and religiously indoctrinated into the belief that it HAS to be a male and a female. Although I don't really care about what happens, I think the government sucks. They can serve so called equality, but true reform will only happen when the president accidentally drone strikes congress.

Right?
This terrifying girl will grow up to vote for gay marriage. Lots and lots of gay marriage.

Seriously though, sex appeal pays off better than logical arguments for fairness. David Bowie cashed in on the sexy gay strategy in the 1970's, and a generation later the nation is finally ready to consider equality.

Sex appeal does. One of the reasons I won't get involved
