Last haircut I got was fantastic c: The haircut I got before that though, I absolutely hated.
I wanted it cut into a bob like a character from this anime I used to watch.
Well apparently bringing in a pic of a cartoon character is a bad idea.
It was all lopsided and weird! D; I looked like a dude DX

Ah, I cut my hair myself these days. Too many foreign women who don't really do good men's haircuts and are hard to talk to. The only time I found an older American man who knew what he was doing, he got promoted to upper management.

I hate having it done so I just buzz it then let it grow for a couple months then repeat the process.

I go- one month before prom, mind you. SENIOR prom- and want to get an inch off of my near ten inch long hair. I relax, listen to my music and then I feel the razor on my neck. I open my eyes, and instead of the cut I showed her, the slight trim .. She has cut off seven inches of my hair. SEVEN. I freaked out and verbally ripped into her. I refused to pay and I honestly left in such a stink the other customers were shocked and left too. It looked absolutely terrible, even come prom.

Sorry to hear some of you have had some awful experiences at the salon!
i have dreadlocks so i don't have much to add to the feeling of sitting in a chair at the salon.
BUT i am a hairstylist in training at a Salon. that being said, if you don't know how you want your hair cut, or are not sure what would look good on you. Go see a stylist for a 25-40$ haircut and bring a few pictures with! They'll hook you up! you cant expect to be overjoyed with your haircut if you don't know what you want and aren't willing to pay decent money. You get what you pay for!

After a **bad bleaching experience where I had to cut off my waist length hair up to my chin, I've been cutting my own hair for the past several years. When my hair grows out at least another four inches, maybe then I'll decide to go to the salon.

Unless you have a very simple style that requires nothing more than electric clippers, I don't recommend going to a low-end cutting salon.

The key to getting a great haircut is going to a trained, reputable salon. Book an appointment before hand for a senior stylist. It will be a bit more expensive, but it certainly worth it.

If you can find a photo of the style you want, bring it. Bonus points if you can find photos from side or back angles. I certainly recommend this for people who are switching styles. When you're going in for just a trim, it's much easier for the stylist to essentially clean up the style that is already there. When a customer asks for something drastically different, it can be a bit nerve wracking for you and your hair cutter to end up with the desired result.

Also, if you can, aim for an appointment during the week. Weekends are very busy and they may have to rush in order to finish before their next appointment arrives.

**The damaged bleached hair has since grown out and been cut off. It's now down to my mid-back and very healthy.

when i was in elementary school i had really long hair down to my waist and in 5th grade i wanted it cut right below my shoulders and she cut it to my ears i was sad

when i turned 23 i had my hair cut shorter than ever and layered and after that i didn't brush my hair for a whole year

other than that, haircuts have been rather normal

I hate cutting my hair... But I hate having too big hair also, my hair gets very thick and because of that, it get's really messy up there <.<

That said, I cut all of my hair about 3 weeks ago xD!! BAD IDEA, I hate having my all of my hair cut, but had to do it, *my hair ...uhh...bottom? started getting some weird marks or something that was annoying, probably was because of my hair being so thick, so I tried cutting it. It helped for awhile, now the marks are starting to come back -.-!!*

Haircuts are the worst since I have a pretty big head, but my recent hair cut was great and grew out really fast. Going to see how I would look with an Afro soon.

But there was the one time when I was seven my dad made me cut off all my hair and I was bald... Worst 2 weeks of my elementary school life...

I don't have any human interaction in person other than handing money over to someone behind a cash register, so getting my hair cut is strangely pleasant and gross at the same time, uncomfortable, because it's sort of intimate.

I would go buzz cut to avoid it, and how pricey it is, but the problem is that I look a lot like Edward Furlong from American History X with a buzz cut.

When they were running around with that, making a big deal out of it, and told me that I should get my hair cut, I told them "Fuck off." A few months later, I got a buzz cut at my sisters house, because you don't exactly have a lot of money while you're in the military.

All my experiences have been rather relaxing, except for supercuts

I rather enjoy getting my haircut, nothing special just really relaxing

When I was a kid, my mom always took me to these strange hair-cut places trying to find the cheapest. The best however was a Pro-cuts which had a Vietnamese guy named Andy(At least thats what he tells me his name is) who could cut hair real nice.

Years later, he now owns his own Haircut place just across the street from my house.

And he cuts my hair damn nice, one a month or two or three....something.

I walk in, tell him 3 on top, 2 on sides, and BAMN, I got my short hair and he gets 12 bucks, 8 if I go on Wednesday.
