Because if not taking it seriously enough bothered you, since you created the thread, then I would feel a bit bad about it and then have to respond seriously which could be too lengthy unless I went with the very short answer version which wouldn't look like an entirely serious answer either.

This is a response to the "Why are women so complicated?" and "What is a girl?" threads that are popular at the moment, and primarily ill-natured comments associated with these threads. Please note that this isn't an attack on all men.
It's especially ironic that alot of the complaints about us women regard how self-conscious and overly-critical men apparently tend to believe us to be. As for the ladies who's behavior actually fits the overwhelming stereotype of women, perhaps they wouldn't act that way if "you men" wouldn't be so judgmental. The nasty comments about us females accurately portray how vicious men can be.

I say this as a fellow female, but you do realize that it isn't so much the "vicious" way men judge and act that make women act like the stereotypical women right? It's the vicious way that women act and judge to each other that does it. Like for example most of the women who spend hours putting on make up, doing their hair, and picking out their outfits are usually doing it to impress other women not men. Instead of physically beating other females into their "proper" place in the social group like men do; women tend to use more verbal abuse attacking each others self-worth.

I'm just making things more fair with a thread about men.
Personally, my middle and high school experience with boys was the opposite of what you described in your last statement. I spent alot of my time trying to keep myself from getting in fights with men.

Oh really? I got in fights with boys a lot in elementary school, but by middle school I had mastered my "death stare" so I never had to get in physical fights when I got older. Anyways I was speaking in general terms about how men and women differ in establishing their respective social orders.

I'm pretty thick-skinned, and I'm decently used to trolls and whatnot, so a commentor with a good sense of humor won't bother me. Besides, this is my first thread and you're the first to make a comment on it, so you get special treatment.

Well I certainly don't mind getting special treatment. ...or someone saying I have a good sense of humor. It's so rare....

You're correct, though I've witnessed men trying to impress each other with looks and verbally cutting others down, as well. Especially amongst bureaucrats and businessmen.

Yeah that is true I did learned my intimidation skills from dad after all

This may help you. It is the New Abridged Pocket Edition To Understanding Women. It contains Chapter 1 the sequel is due out later this month and will contain chapter 2. It is unknown at this time how many chapters there will be as it is still being written and needs constant revision.

To be fair, lotsa female generalize as well.

I think it's because women can be very complex, sensitive, and moody.
Not all women, but most of the gals I know are.

Men and women act different and to some men, it's kind of like a whole new world.

I can't blame them, but at the same time those who generalize aren't realizing that each individual, male or female, is different and there's no magic potion or guide to knowing how to treat someone or react to them.

Touché, and very agreeable. The way we think changes though when we get to know a person. Until then, it's safe to speak our minds as long as we don't hurt other people. xD

Because this is the internet and guys who spend a lot of time on the internet don't necessarily have the best track record with women?

All I know is that I was played by a coquettish bitch. I lash out at women sometimes and become angry when rejected. If we all ceased the mind games, life would be simpler. No one would be deeply cut and forever damaged. I also would not be so goddamn hateful and critical of women.

You know, coming from a person about half way done with Psych training. The size of the book wouldn't be far off when you started adding them all up lol.

As for why people generalize, it is simple human nature. All snakes and spiders must be poisonousness, all penguins live in cold places, everything in Australia is trying to kill you. See? It's easy to make a generalization because of the simple fact, statistically it will probably be true more often than not.

So to sum it up. All men, women, and humans in general generalize about everything in general and are generally right due to general statistics.
