I've been having some seriously bad headphone luck lately. My P3 headphones broke and I've been looking for something half as good to replace them with. I got a pair of nice Panasonic noise reduction ear buds over Christmas, but they're already pretty much busted, so I was wondering what suggestions people had for headphones.

I'm looking for something portable and good for planes. It doesn't need to be noise reduction per se but good sound is a must. Something that won't break the bank, but that will last too. I hate it when headphones break on a trip (like they're doing now). Larger headphones are okay, as long as they're really comfy. Comfort is definitely a must either way since I tend to wear them for extended periods.

Thanks!

For gaming and movies I have the Sony bluetooth wireless headset for my ps3. They sound fantastic. For work or anything outdoors I have the Bose earbuds. The earbuds cost a hundred bucks, but they sound great also, and their comfortable.

It will depend on what you are using the headset for but Logitech makes some very good headsets for games, plantronics also makes quite a number of fine options. To be honest though I would recommend you look at a company you have probably never heard of called Sennheiser. Their headphones and headsets are absolutely top notch, very well priced, and will give you sound fidelity close (not the same but close) to many of the bigger names like Bose but for three times less money.

Alright, I'll take a look at that one. It came up in some of my searching but I was too intent on some other stuff to give it too much thought. Thanks. I like getting these suggestions for future reference too.

EDIT: You weren't kidding about the price. That's definitely nice to see. I kill off headphones fast so I constantly get torn between my desire for really nice headphones and the fact that even good ones don't tend to last too long.

Oh yeah, Sennheiser is great for that because even if you break them a new pair is just 30-40 bucks away. Not 90 - 100.

I use my Beats by Dr.Dre Pro for music, watching movies and such, for gaming i have the Razer Tiamat 7.1 surround. The beats are insane, they have a alloy frame which is very strong so they don't break even if u step on them or drop them, they dont sit too tight around the head so its very comfy. Absolutely recommend them. Only con tho is that they come at a high price.

Can't go wrong with Sennheiser, Audio-technica, or most sony headphones. I have these http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-439-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B005SNPV94 and a headphone amp and they are great. Also I have big ears and my last pair of headphones hurt after wearing them for an hour or so, but these I can easily wear for 5-6 hours at a time, and sometimes I forget I'm even wearing them. Extremely comfortable.
