For about the last four days crunchyroll takes around 3-4 minutes to even start an episode. Then sometimes it will start and just repeat 3 seconds over and over. My connection is great and any other streaming service on my roku plays flawlessly. I have tested it on 2 other Roku devices in my home and all of them have the same issue with crunchyroll. I really saddens me that I may have to drop the service.

Sure thing, but while I wait several days for a reply hopefully someone on here has an answer.

Ugh it's to the point now that nothing is even watchable. After the 5 minute wait of loading it plays for a few seconds then loads again....

I've been having the same issue. I've not timed the buffering time, but it's in the minutes range. If I pull up Crunchyroll on my Galaxy S3, connected to the exact same wireless connection, in the same room, the video plays almost instantly. The same can be said of my PC connection. I'm guessing that all three of these use a different streaming feed, but the Roku one seems borked.

The initial commercial loads and runs fine, then I have the long buffer time. After that I get a break and another buffer right after the opening credits and then again near the 3/4 mark on a typical 20 minute episode. These breaks seem to line up with the commercials on the PC side, but I have no commercials, just very long buffering.

Is there anything that I can do, short of not watching CR on my two Roku boxes?

I'm waiting to hear back from Operations about issues with slow playback on Roku.

Just wanted to add my feedback... Same as the others -- other devices on same network run fine, other streaming on Roku is fine, etc. but CR on Roku constantly buffers for minutes at a time and does this many times during playback. May cancel my service for a bit, since I only use CR on my Roku and it is essentially unwatchable at this point.

Problems just started for me on my Roku 2 XD about two days ago. Load times are noticeably longer, and I'm lucky if I get two minutes into a show without a "Loading...please wait" error before getting kicked back to the show's "play" screen. No other channels appear to be affected, but I rebooted the unit just in case, with no luck. Looking forward to any thoughts/updates you might have...

We're currently working on a new build for the Roku app.
We're also working on a new way of streaming for this app.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

Glad to see you're working on the problem, mine started doing it a few days ago, really annoying, I've had to resort to watching from my Ipad while it gets sorted out.

I've been considering getting a roku primarily for Crunchyroll, but I'm hesitant with all the problems people seem to be having. Is there a estimated date for the new roku build to be released?

Oh, no wonder. I was getting really...agitated (nicest word I could use right now.). Crunchyroll has Hunter X Hunter, and none of the other streaming services have it. But, it is taking me an hour to watch a 20 minute episode due to all these buffering issues. I really wish the problem will be fixed soon because I am dying here. Anyone know any other sites I can watch this on? Or is that against the rules to ask that here?

I don't know, but if this isn't fixed soon, I will be forced to drop it. But, I really do not want to because it is really convenient and a good service when it works properly.

Provided the other site is a legal site, it is not against the rules. Fansub sites, however, are specifically prohibited from mentioned.

CR appears to be the only legal site for Hunter x Hunter.

I can only assume these streaming issues you are experiencing are region-specific, or at least only occur at certain times, as I checked out both the first few minutes of the first and last episode of the series on my Roku before posting this and experienced not so much as a single glitch.

Well, thanks so much for getting back to me! I am going out of town tomorrow, but I will still be in state. So, I am going to check out my brother's Roku service to see if it truly is regional. And then, I just took a long nap and then came back to it because I was hoping it only happens at certain times, but it is still screwy.

If it is regional, is there nothing I can do but sit back and wait for it to be fixed?
