My 18th sucked. I invited a group of about 10 over to play videogames late into the night. Nobody showed.

Also I'm 21 and still not an adult... you're only as young as you feel!

My eighteenth wasn't all that special to be honest. I hardly remember doing anything special. I think all I did is buy my first Rifle and eat some ice cream cake.
I didn't move out and I didn't act any more mature.

Well on my 18th I was on a plane from new York to London, vomited on the plane all over my clothes, smelt like ':(' on the coach and then finally got home and slept through the whole night.

Honestly though, I believe there is no actual age for being an adult, society has forced people into adopting this idea that the ages of 18 + 21, it should be more a feeling within yourself that you think you have matured. I think we should enjoy any birthday the same, i dont really like alcohol but in moderation its a good thing for social bonding

My 18th birthday wasn't anything special, not that I'm complaining, just another day.

I guess I realized I was an adult when I graduated high school, started driving and had bills to pay.

I haven't moved out yet but I certainly plan to, right now I'm just focusing on graduating. And yes I am expected to act a little more mature now and I do for the most part.

Oh, and happy birthday!

I didn't do any thing special for my 18th birthday because I didn't think it was any big deal (yippy I am old enough to legally by tobacco products, and Porn! But wait I'm not interested in either.... so what is the big deal again? ). I didn't really start feeling like I was an adult until I was 23. This was mainly do to the fact that until I was 23 I could even imagine myself getting married and starting a family I knew I wasn't mature enough to handle it.

My 18th birthday was on the same day as my AP Psychology exam, so I studied, took a 4 hour test, then went home to study for my next AP test which was in a couple days...
Avengers came out the next day so I celebrated then, which was much more fun

What was your 18th birthday like?
Nothing to spectacular ON my birthday, but the summer after FOR my birthday I was treated to a tour of Germany, and the age limit for drinking there is like 16 or 18 so I was able to drink legally which was fun. (Of course since turning 21 I have pretty much turned into a fish living off alcohol.)
How long did it take for you to acknowledge you're an adult now?
As a running joke in my family and group of friends, Men don't grow up, we just get bigger.

Will/Did you move out immediately?
No, My sister is handicapped and my parents are not able to lift her up as easily as I can (my father can but works 12+ hours a day.) so I stay home for now to take care of my sister.
Will/Did you have to act more mature or you already are?
I think this is a matter of opinion/situation more than anything, everyone can admit (or imho lie) that around certain family members or in certain situations you will act more mature/like an adult. But put yourself around your best friends and someone else looking at you from the outside of your social circle will think you are acting immature or like a child or something. So to answer simply.... no not really.

What was your 18th birthday like? Don't remember, never remember birthdays really. Feel like any other day to me with just some special attention from friends and family.

How long did it take for you to acknowledge you're an adult now? Didn't really feel like an adult until I moved out and became independent, which wasn't for a couple years after.

Will/Did you move out immediately? Kind of, shortly after I went to college in another state but don't feel like living in dorms really counts as living on your own.

Will/Did you have to act more mature or you already are? Nope, maturity is something I gradually gained over time. Don't think anyone just gains it in a moment due to a birthday.

I finally turned 18 yesterday. It wasn't anything completely out of the ordinary. I went to New York City and Olive Garden. Overall, I had a pretty sweet birthday. Although it was too expensive for my taste.
In the recent years I didn't feel much older when it was my birthday. However I'm an adult now thus I feel as if I'm actually 18.

For those who are 18 and above.

I've never really bothered with celebrating birthdays etc, all i knew was that shit, i have to pay for the dentist now (its free here till 18).

Thats it I dont even remember what i did that day so i cant even help you, but i can tell you i moved out 2months after i turned 18, went fine tbh, i had heard it was difficult to maintain etc, but i found it pretty easy to be honest, finding way in the tax systems etc etc is 100x worse.

If i did get more mature? not at all, i actually kinda got more mature when i was 16, getting a job etc, education, focusing on whatever i really liked to do instead of just having fun and drinking all the time (which i started with in a pretty early age, found out that it got boring pretty fast though) and basicly started taking control of my life and now i cant say that i miss going out, and i somewhat feel sorry for those people who drink / do drugs every day/weekend etc, instead of just figuring their lives out earlier and decide what they wanna do.

Granted not everyone knows, or have any idea of what they wanna do with their lives but imo its atleast better then by wrecking it with crap :/

Oh well just my opinion ^^ Take it with a grain of salt

I don't consider 18 year olds adults. To me, you must be at least 25 to be considered an adult. I'm not sure if this true, but 25 is when the human body is full grown.
