I finally turned 18 yesterday. It wasn't anything completely out of the ordinary. I went to New York City and Olive Garden. Overall, I had a pretty sweet birthday. Although it was too expensive for my taste.
In the recent years I didn't feel much older when it was my birthday. However I'm an adult now thus I feel as if I'm actually 18.

For those who are 18 and above.
What was your 18th birthday like?
How long did it take for you to acknowledge you're an adult now?

For those under 18.
What do you think your 18th birthday will be like?

For all.
Will/Did you move out immediately?
Will/Did you have to act more mature or you already are?

Ok for starters my 18 bday was spent in a bowling alley cheering on my bf who was in a no tap tournament that day. I tried as much as possible to keep a low key. I'm not someone who celebrates bdays. Then his old highschool friend called him after asking to go out tonight cause he joined the navy and hes leaving. Of course my bf said no but he ended up spilling the beans in front of his parents about my bday so we ended up having a nice little dinner just the 4 of us at Denny's.

I felt like I acknowledge the responsibilities that came with my age a bit more. You know not having the whole minor thing to bail you out in case you get trouble. Although I never got in trouble anyways just felt nice that was there... I didn't really acknowledge/ really feel like I was an adult though until I started acting like one.

I moved out way before when I was 14.
I've always been more mature for my age although when I turned 18 is actually when I felt comfortable to be myself and act immature once in awhile.

It was pretty much how you said yours was, had a nice family party with a best friend and it was pretty much the same as others.
I'm an adult and i have to be careful what I do
For example at school, I can't just fight anyone now if they piss me off, they might be minors.
I'm not gonna move out til I get a good career going, as long as I help out around the house my parents don't mind
And no I don't have to act more mature, although im a pretty normal guy, I just be who I am, watch my anime and play my video games when I have the free time =]

I went to a local sushi place (that's still open today) on my 18th.
I was still in high school then, so I couldn't move out. I still haven't completely flown the nest, 5 years, 1 graduation and 1 transfer later.

I didn't remember about my birthdays. I think my 17th or 18th birthday was lousy. I had been stress and moody during my school years, due to the schoolwork and sometimes friends & family.

Hmmm...once I turned eighteen, I didn't think that I had become adult till I turned 21.

My 18 birthday was ''now you are 18 and you live alone'' It's been almost 6 years now. Not that cool living alone but had no choice then. This grass is no greener that those who live with a home.

So... you live in a box?

What's that suppose to mean? No, I live alone in an apartment I have to take care of. Being 18 was unpractical. Was thrown in hell without any choice. Now that hell seems lighter. Doing whatever I can to make the most out of it. Starting to like living here now. Especially in Spring, Summers. ^^

I didn't do anything for my 18th or 21st. I hate birthday parties and whatnot. And the only people I ever invite are my parents, brother and sister. The 5 of us. Nobody else.

As for feeling like an adult, looking back, no, I was still in the teenage angst phase. I felt like the whole world was my enemy, hated everyone from high school.

Now I feel a lot calmer. I don't treat people as my enemy anymore. I do feel like an adult now that I'm 24.

Nothing special happened or changed when I turned 18. Just grilled out and watched basketball with friends. If you think turning 18 makes you an adult, people still tend to look at you more as a kid till mid 20s. At 21 I really don't feel like an adult, but that will probably change after I move out in 2 months.

My 18th birthday..... to be honest i don't remember, it was probably the same as every other day except from the gift of money from my family.
I'm an Adult?!? I still don't consider myself an adult.
I have not moved out because i don't have a need to.... yet. Though there was a time i wanted to but those where bad days.
Being mature, for the most part i am mature i guess but that only applies to jobs and college, outside of them i tend to be less mature

My 18th was far from normal. I lost a loved one and spent most of the day in bed. I didn't feel older.

Hm, 18, that feels like a long time ago. It was somewhat normal, I was preparing for finals for my summer semester at college, which I did every year I was there. I'd already been living on campus for over a year at that point, but didn't really "move out" until I got a job shortly after graduation and had to move halfway across the country.

I still watch cartoons when I have time, though, so I'm not sure 'adult' will ever apply to me.
