"Huh?" is what they most likely mean.

I think he's referring to the way that a character shouting "ehhhh?" at the end of a scene is usually accompanied by the camera tilting up to the sky.

"Hey, you saved me from a gang of cats when we were little and I've liked you for the last ten years." Whaa?

Variations also include:

"I met you at a festival for like 10 minutes 15 years ago, and I'm completely hopelessly in love with you still."

"You tripped over your own feet, tackled me to the ground, groped my boobs, and suddenly I realize you're the one I love."

"You're too dumb to call a cab, so you plonked me down on the back of your bike and rode 3 miles uphill to get me to (insert whatever here) on time and now I know how much you really love me."

"You grabbed my wrist and ran off with me and no I don't think it's technically kidnapping if I fell in love with you while getting dragged along."

Okay, I admit it, I LOL'd, all the more so because this is true, though perhaps not as true as it was back in the '90s.

My least favorite cliché – and I seem to recall mentioning this in a different topic – is the overly emotional male best friend who feels the urge to scream everything he is feeling.

I get that part. The character says "huh" when that happens.

A character is just about to be killed, and the shot shows their impending doom just centimeters from their face...

And someone blocks it

There's a name for this, I know there is...

OH MY GOD!!! I SWEAR I CAN'T STAND WHEN THEY DO THAT!!! VILLAINS LIKE THAT PISS ME OFF!!!
I don't want a bad guy/villain telling their reason for why they became bad/evil. Especially, if the reason is something outrageously stupid to the point you wanna hit them for saying it. Ugh!!!

I don't flip out but it really irritates me when the inevitable 'hot springs' in the mountain lodge or woods
pops up....

Even had one in Samurai Champloo..etc...
The peeking boys, the half ass angry females,
the bloody noses of sex starved male teenagers really gets me..

Still and all Inuyasha had a hot springs in the night scene...I was surprised...
I always felt Sesshoumaru was after his half brother for more than a jealous
squabble over a sword...
I think he was looking for a piece..

I can't really think of one of the top of my head. I mean, as long as the series I'm watching is enjoyable and I'm having fun watching it, the cliches really don't matter at all

1. Main Character's that are too blind to see what's obvious to anyone watching for more than three episodes.

2. When more than two scenes act like te main character is about to die, and nothing devastating happens to them all because someone miraculously does something at the last second saving them.

3. Shows that deal with incest and give the most bs resolution.

4. Tsundere characters that have episodes all to themselves about the most bs reason they act a certain way.

5. When side characters show up just to prolong one episode, leave after just that one episode, then end up being referenced none at all or only once.

6. Listening to a protagonist or villain give the longest speech ever to only end up getting their ass kicked after half an episode.

7. (Last one.) When a character pulls out some random new move all of a sudden and never use it again after that one time. (-_-) Like really bench.

Cold = fever/near death sickness/flu? Especially when it's just caused by rain.

The cliche that is Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Orihime from Bleach, and Hinata from Naruto. There's an interesting "coincidence" that all three share the same English Dubbed actress. lol Admittedly, though, I manage to find Hinata to be pretty decent.

Breasts that seem to have a life of their own. Yikes!
