I hate overused cliffhangers in general. Anime series that use this technique make me want to watch the next episode after the next, so I usually finish in one sitting. But then I get confused whether I actually liked the series or if I just succumbed to the technique that the creators used to keep the viewer watching.
That too. Speaking of this another thing that pisses me off related to this is the unnecessary extended recaps some shows do. Sometimes I get the feeling that I could skip entire episodes and not miss anything. You know the situation where they literally recap the second half of the previous episode nearly in its entirety for the first half of the current episode, and then in the next episode recap the second half of the current episode nearly in its entirety. This pretty much means that you could watch episode 53, for instance, and skip straight to episode 55 and not miss anything, as episode 54 is just the last half and the first half of episode 53 and 55 combined.

And she (almost always a she) will be the tsundere type that cares for their brother but insults him or the super shy one who acts like talking to her brother is the most embarrassing thing ever despite having lived together for 10+ years. Then he grabs some toast and runs off to school, late but barely makes it.

When you reach that point it means you need to clear your memory and start over. You've been over-saturated by anime cliches and are past the point of no return.

I don't even care about anime cliches, and I'm glad, it makes things all the more enjoyable.

The shows that start with:
-'My name is blah blah blah and I'm a whatever year student at whatever school
-the waking up in the morning scene.
-'Today I'm transferring into....."
-that big action scene that happens at the end
-_-
then theres:
-when a boring guy gets a harem
-those 'moe' characters that have no use to the plot
-girl who has a big crush on the main guy and it's so obvious but the main guy doesnt see it

ugh I could go on...

if I had one major annoyance, it would be flashbacks from the previous episode. IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO. I would say one of the biggest offenders of this is Yu-Gi-Oh, but most every shonen has this issue and most of the time i just skip over it when it shows up

Also, the power of friendship. I hate this one so much, it gets its own post. I can't stand this friendship and love nonsense, it's everywhere. I have nothing against this concept itself, but its abused so much, especially in shonen stuff.

She sports a fancy eyepatch too. I swear I have seen that in so many anime yet what's the actual rate of teens getting eye injuries that require such patches? Is it actually cool to some people? Why is that all eyepatch wearers have to be mysterious and depressing? I'm pretty sure that's depressing to people who actually have that issue. And how do I know that they're not trying to do some weird reverse psychology thing where they show how ridiculous that most eyepatch users have some mystical power within that eye so that I never check people who wear eyepatches in real life who actually do have something weird going on. I think I'll stop thinking.

screaming and standing in a pose to power up, You would assume that they would have access to their power all the time. Why do they need to scream and flex in order to use their full strength? Is it buried somewhere where only screams can reach?

To be honest, it's hard to clear something from your mind when 99% of anime these days fall into at least a few cliches.
