The sponsorship by Dyson vacuum cleaners.

Seriously, just because its an outer space mecha. The mecha fans hope it'll be a good mecha series, the SF fans hope it'll be a good SF series. This is, after all, the part of the season where we can hope that things turn out for the best.

We already know that, its on the lineup page: http://www.crunchyroll.com/lineup

Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, Space Brothers, Folk Tales, Chihaya Furu, Cardfight Vanguard, Saint Seiya Omega, Saki Episode of Side A, Aoi Sekai no Chushin de, Straight Title Robot Anime.

For me, a season with Chihaya Furu and Space Brothers is already well on its way to being a win, so I'm able to wait with quite a bit of patience.

I'm definitely checking out Valvrave, it's been on my radar for a good while now. Sunrise have a way with mecha shows. I'd love to see you pick up Suisei no Gargantia and Attack on Titan if you can manage it.

@Vin_Howard: When a mecha series comes from Sunrise, it's hard to tell if it'll be generic or not. The premise itself is like a mix of gundam and...i'm almost inclined to say macross. But again it's hard to say, Sunrise have a way with mecha series which others don't. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not so much. We'll see how this one pans out.

Why am I stuck with the feeling that Sparrows Hotel will be a short? I really hope I'm wrong.

Because it is? The Spring 2013 Anime thread says that Countdown has it down as 5min episodes.

Since I joined at the start for Bleach and Naruto, and Bleach is over while Naruto has sunk to new lows as an anime, I've wondered about whether I'll renew my membership again. But you always come up with something worthy in future seasons to pull me along.

I stop by a couple times a week and generally find something to watch... Chihayafuru has been a favorite. Hakkenden was pretty good and I watch Space Brothers. Blast of Tempest was great but it's over, and Magi was a total disappointment.

My Little Monster and Say I Love You were entertaining, and I'm a huge Kuroko no Basket fan, so if you keep that going you'll have me hooked for sure... but I don't see any mention of the Winter Cup this spring.

And you don't have the very best recent sci-fi dark dystopia action anime, Psycho-Pass; hope you get it!

It was licensed by Funimation (and simulcast by them), so that isn't going to happen.

Well, I'm disappointed in this season so far with what they have on this list... I see maybe 1 or 2 that I'll watch on this website. Sparrow Hotel is like 10min episodes i think so i don't even count that anime as one so they are showing 4. Most of the ones i want to see aren't on this list, and I know they still have a little bit of time left before these series start so I'm hoping for several more to be added soon.

When will Crunchyroll announce the shows that are continuing for Q2/Spring 2013? For some of them, like Magi and Little Busters it seems it could either end next week or continue for another quarter. Does anyone know?

The lineup page shows the continuing titles: http://www.crunchyroll.com/lineup

Occasionally "continuing" titles are licensed as new seasons, and those will be announced in the same way new simulcasts are.

To see how many episodes there are in a show, and when the last one will air, the info at Countdown (URLs below) is pretty good. The first link is for stuff that has already ended (scroll down to see March). The second link shows everything, but if you mouse over, the final episode date will be displayed along with some other info.

Haiyore! is pretty much a given.

Samurai Girls is almost a certain to be licensed by Sentai, as TAN simulcast the first series. The question is, will it be a TAN exclusive this time? If CR gets it, will they also get the first series (and would it be the uncensored version TAN only shows in dub format)?

The continuing shows are listed in the top section of the lineup page, which has been up since last week.

FYI, Magi isn't continuing now, but will continue in the fall:

Little Busters is scheduled to end with episode 26.

Thanks for your help, I didn't notice the Spring 2013 link on the front page. A lot of anime series have ended in Q1 it seems.

On these new series, none of them really standout to me. The only one I'm really intimate with is Oriemo2 and that's only because I watched the first season back in December 2012 to prepare for it. I thought it was ok watch but nothing spectacular. Actually, nothing really stands out to me the way Magi did last fall (very happy its not going the way of Blue Exorcist), at least so far. But I'll still probably end up watching all of them.

Yes, the "normal" times to start series that are going to run for two broadcast seasons are Spring and Fall, so at the end of Winter, we see the end of both quarter-year series that started in Winter and half-year series that started in Fall.

Some half-year seasons start Winter or Summer (Legend of the Legendary Heroes which Funimation streamed, Chihaya Furu, continuing this season her at Crunchyroll), but its less common.

So there will be fewer continuing series and fewer new series in a normal Spring and Fall than in Winter and Summer.

Don't judge the number of announcements that will be made by the boxes in the new simulcast list at the moment ~ Crunchyroll seems to wait until the contract is signed before they add a box, so more (probably a lot more) will be added over this week and the next.

So, three full length series into an announcement season that is likely to run to fifteen to twenty new full length titles, and you're "disappointed?"

Jump to premature conclusions, much?

Heck, if it wasn't for Aniplex leaking two titles and the desire to have announcements for Sakura-con, the announcements could easily have started tomorrow.
