Polar Bear's Cafe

Just had their last episode # 50 this last week of March with the begining of spring.

This is one of the most unusual anime I have ever seen . I regularly avoid anime that looks kidsy but I am glad this one got me intrested. It is one of the most refreshing slice of life anime with the an odd twist of animals talking and living like humans with humans and with jobs. I never thought of a polar bear could run a cafe at most .

I enjoyed their day to day interactions and the word play or puns are just fun and educational, since I am still learning Japanese vocabulary myself. Their pacing of the speech is slower that I could actually pick up the words and understand what they are saying without reading the subtitles lol.

I also love the fact that my favorite seiyuu are in this especially the core friends of Shiro Kuma san -Sakurai san , Penguin san- Kamiya san , Grizzly kun -Nakamura san , and of course Panda kun - Fukuyama san who has the most annoying character ever. And Mei Mei , I love what Hanazawa did for that character. I love it. Also Aya Endo as Sasako san . I like the quality of her voice for her character. So sweet and innocent .

Their ending songs (12) were all made for the anime with the characters singing them or their seiyuu are actually enjoyable to listen to and watch especially Pandaholic was funny.

Overall it such a cute, relaxing and well made anime for everybody in the family to enjoy.

I enjoyed Polar Bear Cafe. It was a beautiful and entertaining series. Its sad that it ended because it was a nice prime time anime. I loved the seiyuus in this show because they are mostly good and well known people. They played the characters nicely and everyone fit the role. I LOVED KANA as Mei Mei and i loved Bamboo Rendezvous (ending song). Still at the beginning episodes, it took me a while to get used to it since it seemed so boring. But it developed and got good. Sadly my friend dropped the show due to Pandas annoying voice...

I watched every single episode. I enjoyed the first 20 to 30, but it seemed to fall flat after that. I watched the last 20 or so while surfing the internet Thursday mornings as background noise and glancing at the TV from time to time.

I thought this was a great series, and very much under appreciated. It was even something I could watch with my wife. While I couldn't navigate it without the subtitles, I did appreciate the slightly slower and simpler speech, and could more readily pick up words and phrases with this series than with others. I even bought the manga for practice too; there's a lot of additional material in the anime that's not in the manga (at least that published in book form so far).

I really liked it!- ALOT!
I had this series in my 'saved list' to watch for awhile before actually watching it. At first I thought it was going to be more for the younger crowd; ubt soon out that it was fun to watch as an adult.
While the use of animals to represent different personality tratits of people is fairly common, having people interact with them at the same time is unique! Especially seeng the animals as just 'employees' at the ZOO! ROFL!!!
The puns were, as mentioned , a great way to learn a bit Japanese, as well as the slower speaking pace made reading the subtitiles easier.
It wasn't a show I always wanted to watch, but enjoyed it when I did. I found to alwys be good for a smile and a laugh when I was feeling a bit blue. Grizzly, of course, was definately my favorite character. He reminds me of the better Sgt. Majors in the military. Always loud, grumbling and acting nasty; when really they were concerned and caring- just hiding it!!!! :D
My wife even liked this show, and was sad to see it end, as was I. . .. But, all good things.....

Yeah thats right , it was indeed funny that they actually would work in the zoo and clock in...

and yes Panda's voice was very annoying. I actually would skip those scene with him in it... well almost lol. and then I would curse Jun kun for doing that ...well ...too much ... Also when I found out that Morikawa Toshiyuki was Mama Panda , I just cracked up more. I could not even recognize it was him.I love it and looked forward for her scenes in it.

Among the humans, my favorite was Rin Rin...got to love Rin Rin.

I watch an episode or two before I go to bed at night. It's very relaxing and puts me right to sleep, which is exactly what I'd hoped for from this anime. I love the mellow atmosphere.

Excellent in small doses. Might be my favorite of the season.
I'm still slowly watching it, need to take long breaks between episodes. Otherwise the puns and the general cuteness start to grate on my nerves.

Loved the series. Kept hoping 2 members in the human race would connect by episode 50 but, oh well, art truly imitates life once again. I've really been surprised by the low audience numbers. Or at least those who took time to rate the episodes for better or worse.

Is it over? i really hope it isnt. at the very end when they usually give the next episode preview they made it sound like they might be back. I wuld love another 50+ episodes
