Note to Blood Lad fans; CR's chances of getting that just went up since Kadokawa likes to bundle things together and Fate/kaleid liner is Kadokawa(as is Blood Lad).

I'm crossing my finger!! and I hope CR also gets Makai Ouji

NIS America licenses Genshiken Nidaime
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-07-04/nisa-adds-hanasaku-iroha-film-genshiken-2nd-season-anime

It has a decent chance of coming over to Crunchyroll since NISA has a good relationship with CR but there have been NISA licensed series that never got simulcasted(Daily Lives of High School Boys).

EDIT:

Ugh! Funi got Neptunia. At least Hal will get a dub though

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-07-04/funimation-adds-hal-009-re-cyborg-films

EDIT2: Following the Live Feed for Sentai's panel:

Sentai reached a deal with Tatsunoko that will include a lot of its library.

Sentai has licensed the Kokoro Connect OVAs but those are a separate release.

Looks like Girls und Panzer is getting a dub.

Hoping Crunchyroll gets these three:

Blood Lad
Highschool DxD New
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

I would be so disappointed if they didn't

Sad news about Neptunia but not surprising, 80% of the time I can't even get past the initial shows page for Funimation it's absolutely ridiculous.

Damn it! Something told me this would be one of the ones Funi goes after :(

DxD is more than likely going to be a Funimation simulcast as well, especially since the first season was also a Funimation simulcast.

Watamote is most likely Funi too.

With TV Tokyo, it depends on whether they hold the international rights, or the studio does. TV Tokyo often does, but not always.

Frankly, if Funimation did get Watamote, they would be a bit simulcast heavy for this season, unless they don't get one of the 3 sequel series (e.g., Milky Holmes) aside from Kingdom 2, which they apparently did pass on.

For spring 2013, they had 6 new simulcasts, two of which are continuing into the summer. They have 3 sequel series they should get. Add that to Neptunia and the two series they announced last week, and they are back up to 6 new simulcasts, in addition to the two continuing ones and their long running simulcasts.

Put another way, as of the end of spring they had 8 simulcasts listed. If they got Watamote and the three I expect, they would have 11 for summer.

Mediafactory usually (always?) has preference over TV Tokyo though. From the top of my head examples include Medaka Box, Aquarion EVOL, Baka Test, and Sasameki Koto.

Mediafactory simulcasts are also always bundled together by season - I've looked back to Winter 2010 and can't find any exceptions. Funi has the other Mediafactory series this season (Neptunia and presumably DxD) so they should have Watamote too. CR does have Kiniro Mosaic but that is from showgate (which can take preference over Mediafactory).

llamaben, somebody noted that Watamote is published in Gangan Joker, and Square Enix tends to use Aniplex or TV Tokyo to distribute their stuff internationally and compared it to how Geneon does TWGOK in Japan but TV Tokyo does that internationally.

I wouldn't be surprised if Funi got Watamote, but it's also possibly a Crunchyroll one. (I take it you don't have any leak info on Watamote or the new Symphogear?)

That connection is interesting, but probably insignificant. TV Tokyo handles the international distribution for all their series unless there is a dominate producer or studio involved (Aniplex, Kadokawa, Mediafactory, Gonzo, Sunrise, TMS). Square Enix may like to broadcast its series on TV Tokyo but I doubt there is a connection to the international licensing side of things.

And no I don't have any leaks (Funi probably realized their incompetence when people started posting the Attack on Titan leak everywhere).

Oh what a tangled web international anime licensing is.

Watamote "feels" more like a CR series to me, but of course that doesn't determine who gets it. The worst case scenario would be the same one Aquarion EVOL suffered; no simulcast at all, despite no apparent reason (and it only recently started streaming).

It seems strange that Funimation would go so big on simulcasts this season, but then summer 2010 was previously their record simulcast season. It would have made more sense for them to hold off any bigger push for this fall, when they supposedly will have their redesigned site in operation.

I'm curious on you thoughts about why Funimation apparently passed on Kingdom 2. While they have started simulcasts more than a month late, I can only think of one time when they took that long to actually announce, and that affected all (two) simulcasts for that season.

Also, do you think there is much chance that Funimation might follow in CR's footsteps and not get the new Milky Holmes series. (I have my doubts Funimation would have licensed the second series on their own. As I recall, it came from the Nico Nico side of the Funico equation).

I have no idea about Kingdom, there really isn't that much data to work with for NHK simulcasts. I don't think Funi would pass on it for no reason either. I took a look at the broadcast channels and it appears that b-ch (a Japanese streaming site) isn't streaming the second season either. Maybe NHK decided it wasn't worth licensing it out?

For Milky Holmes, I don't think that Funi would be very interested in it but they could still make a (low) offer. If Funi actually passed on Kingdom of their own accord then they would likely pass on Milky Holmes too but without knowing what happened there (and with Utapri) it's hard to make a call. It could end up anywhere or nowhere.
