My guess is that Kaiji was those two catalog boxes left over from spring. Since it was never previously licensed in English, maybe there were delays in subtitling the 52 episodes. It is also great to see more catalog titles with regions outside of North America, especially one that isn't just old seasons of a new simulcast. The fact that it is a title that hadn't been licensed at all makes me really excited for the upcoming catalog titles announcements. Usually catalog announcements are just sublicenses from Sentai or NISA, often already available streaming elsewhere, or Dramas.

Interesting that Kaiji is from NTV. Maybe that was part of a package. If so, I hope Monster in that package too(NTV was a producer for that and the anime is apparently going OOP from Viz).

Pushing for a wider region could also have been responsible for a delay. Reading the region list with

USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Carribeans, and South/Central America.

... makes it look like Latin America was an amendment to an existing region list.

The regions as listed for Chronicles of the Going Home Club:

U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, France, the Caribbean, South and Central America.

Given that it was also from NTV, the "package deal" hypothesis gains a bit of weight.

So now that some of the new and 2nd seasons of shows have started at last does anyone know what the chances are that CR will pick up the 3rd season of World God Only Knows, since it has the other 2 seasons?

99.99% chance that CR has it. It's a TV Tokyo series and Sentai is the one who has licensed the previous series so it's almost certainly going to be on CR.

http://anichart.net/summer has a counter and the date under the "more info" tab. I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

Is Valvrave ending or getting a second season later? It isn't in the continuing simulcasts but, that story is not nearly finished. Judging from the pacing and story organization it looked like it would be at least 26 episodes and possibly 52 like most of the Gundam series. Anybody have some insight?
