I hope all the stupid actions they're taking right now are another bluff.

They're asking to get destroyed right now.

I've been following the North Korea story through the Associated Press wire ever since Kim Jong Un took over.

I hope it's all bluffing. If not then we're all going to end up like the asshole in a horror movie who doesn't believe the monster is real and ends up being the first one killed by it.

No idea what you can really do about that much crazy shite in one country.

Haha, nice pic! and it's so terrifying.. Thousands of U.S. soldiers and millions of Koreans just right over the DMZ.

I'll keep thinking positively though because of those many U.S. soldiers and how America will hopefully make their (soldiers + Korean civilians/soldier) protection the primary concern. Everyone around me is saying stuff like "North Korea doesn't have that crap, they're too poor hahaha", but it's still really worrying me.

Well we don`t really know much about North Korea because it is isolated and stuff.

All I can say is.....

SECRETIVE.

I knew the nuclear tests were not innocent minded.
War may have officially resumed between both sides but I hope it doesn't escalate to actual confrontations... Those people should stop with the marching and start with the k-pop dancing.

I have many friends who are journalists. I won't mention the names of the journalists but two were captured along the North Korean border with China while reporting on the human trafficking and the situations with refugees fleeing North Korea into China. They were detained by North Korean border patrols and very nearly sent to a forced labor camp. You can rest assured I'm not a fan of the country.

The North Korean version of communism is focused on Juchei Idea a religious doctrine based on the familial line of Kim Il Sung. The "Dear Leaders" are literally deified. I don't know how you improve conditions within the DPRK without a revolution.

Its government seems to be wallowing in unnecessary fear. It can be fixed by proper education.

I think you and Kimmyboy would have very different ideas as to what 'proper education' is though.

America can be a major player in the Pacific or not. The UN is gutless regarding rogue regimes. Given the rapid rise of China both economically and militarily, an isolationist position on America’s part would all but force South Korea and Japan into the Chinese sphere. The current state of affairs puts the power into China's hands, and maybe diplomacy directly with China would have more success in controlling the Hobbit dictator. Without China, North Korea is without any source of energy.

An impoverished shithole that can't be fixed due to their likely megalomanical beliefs. They want a war, so they will get what they want, plus a good helping of precision guided attacks brought to their doorstep.

The country is crooked and it is all because of their government and the Kim Jong family. Without them, that portion of Korea would be a much better place, but unfortunately we're at a standoff. NK now has nukes and they claim to be willing to use it against us, South Korea and Japan, I think, and we can't really do much about it since China supports North Korea. Yet, China can't let NK fire those nukes as it would definitely affect trade with the U.S. and maybe lead to WW3. So in conclusion, we are at a Mexican standoff and it is NK's fault.

That nation is FUBAR. Though I can't help but think how much money can be made when the North capitulates and there is a need to assimilate their population, rebuild infrastructure, and introduce markets/commodities. I think China would benefit (not being dragged down into a costly war that could escalate, while expanding influence and hegemony) by revoking their little friendship treaty and compromise to jointly annex a capitulated North Korea by striking NK forces when hostilities are openly declared. South Korea though probably won't consider a joint annexation.

If they decide to even so much as look in the general direction of any weapons without the intent of using them on Iraq, or something (cause America just loves bullying the middle east ;~;), they'll immediately be demolished. Everyone in the world would just go to North Korea, and use their fists as bullets, and their rock hard abs as bulletproof vests.

I highly doubt they'll do anything to us. That's why it hasn't become such a big deal.

Also, Kim Jong In is too cute to take seriously.

Look at him!

Adorable.

Also, fixed? Nothings really...wrong with it. It isn't war-torn or anything. Just...really lonely. Probably boring too.

Here, look at this thingy.
