Hit the gym, talk to people with positive energy, go do something productive, change my actions/thinking so that the negative situation becomes a positive one, ask, "Will this matter in 10 years?".

Typically, one or a combination of those things helps me out on the rare occasion that I find myself truly upset.

Hmmm that depends. If i'm just in a bad mood or had a rough day I'd just watch something funny or silly and that would usually cure that. If I'm completely pissed off and need to work out some serious aggression that would involve REALLY loud Dir en Grey music, screaming along with Kyo.

tl;dr either moe or music depending on how bad

I do yoga and meditation (20 mins each) twice a day. I lost weight, learned a bulk of patience and am lighter on me feet

The gym works.

But what ultimately did it for me? Working in an industry that has you perpetually on edge. Nothing beats strengthening your mental focus quite like getting used to a band's tour manager yelling at you for being a "waste of (expletive) space" every chance he gets while simultaneously getting instruments mic'd up for a sound check that was allegedly supposed to happen half an hour ago.

Good times. Take that and many similar experiences, and now NOTHING phases me. Seriously. It takes a lot of poop hitting the proverbial fan to make my head explode.

So I guess my suggestion is to apply to a theater or AV company.

(That story has a happy ending actually, but no one likes happy endings.)

Think of things I love. Like chocolate, and cats, and the beach, and my childhood. I'm actually a naturally calm person, and I rarely get worked up. But when I do, just stay away from me and let me work it out. And I have a HUGE sweet-tooth (and I'm not fat, trust me on this :D), so a piece of chocolate, or some good cookies, brownies, ice cream- you got it, makes me better. I need sweet things almost as much as I need to breathe
