I found it to be a decent first episode. I found it interesting that

I'll give it time to see how the characters flesh out, character development is important to me & so far their personalities are nothing I havent seen before. At this point a lot still remains in the dark plot wise. I think this was one of those opening episodes that was more meant for the "ooh's" and "ah's." of the battle scenes. And there's nothing wrong with that, I know its mecha and I know its all about action and battles, I was just hoping for a little more explanation/background from the get go, not just all of a sudden

The battle scenes are pretty good, though character animation was "eh." I have a feeling the noses in this anime are going to get on my nerves.. they just don't look right to me; & sometimes theyre not even there at all. *sighs*

Anyway.. All in all this show has potentional imo and I will watch for a few more episodes.

I'm giving this one a try, because it's my personal mission to give all the new season shows (that I can watch through CR and Funi) a 3-episode trial. Mecha is my least-loved genre, but if enough attention is given to the characters and story, and it's not all just one mecha battle after another, I could keep watching this to the end.

Character design - not all that appealing. Characters themselves - there's potential for me to like them enough to care what happens.

Plot - well, my theories why

Was it great? No. Fairly fun? Yes. I like the goofy, lighthearted tone, tinged with shonen-typical danger. So, I'm cheerfully looking forward to what next week brings.

Going through queue and finding a whole slew of unwatched episodes for Thursday, I see Majestic Prince, and click on it. Completely surprised to find that we're on episode 2 and that apparently I'd already watched episode 1. Couldn't recall anything about it. Looking back at this thread I'd even bothered to write:

So much for cheerfully looking forward to something that 5 days later I couldn't remember. Of course once I skimmed the thread and watched episode 2, I did remember. It was still watchable, and mildly amusing, but I was predictably bored with the mecha battles, and I'm not any closer to getting to know or care about the characters.

episode 2:

needs more robots fighting

otherwise, the news conference scene was pretty funny as was the drunk Boss

Lawl. They looked like the Team Rabbits during practice in this last episode. If they continue to act like that they might need a diaper next time.

Lmao, those comments during the interview were priceless.

I'm liking their approach on this show, it's a little more realistic. These aren't just random kids thrown into mechs and are suddenly a natural

They've been raised to do this. They just really suck as a team to the point of being total failures.

And their leader is awesome. He's not the stereotypical war crazed guy or the angsty kid. He wants to be the hero.

same goes for sponsorships on the mechs. Gotta get those repairs paid for somehow!

I think I've become paranoid after watching Evangelion. Let's take a look at how this could all go horribly wrong/Evangelion parallels.

These mechs are piloted by a bunch of kids who have warped childhoods.
The attacker has stomach problems and he could lock up in the middle of a battle.
Boss is an attractive older woman in an important position who's also a drunk (Misato).
Commander Simon (or whatever rank) may or may not be a giant troll.
The idealistic leader could easily slip into despair mode.
Perhaps the aliens aren't so different from humans.

Even if this show has a comedic slant to it, I'm scared y'all.

I found the second episode better than the first. I'm willing to give it a couple of more episodes.

Their childhood isn't totally warped, yes they have been raised in a military academy with their purpose to be officers in combat for these mechs, but besides that they are pretty normal kids.

The attacker got a stomach ache from all the sudden stress. I'm sure he'll get over it.

I guess you're a bit right about this. But she's a mechanic, so being a drunk sort of goes with it lmao

Simon i suppose may or may not be a troll, but I'm not sure why.

Izuru? I don't know. He sort of goes into selfless hero mode and goes into all out attacks from what I saw.

I'd like to know more about the aliens in this show.

So I asked a friend of mine to describe this anime to me, and she said it was like G Gundam, but comedy, and all the characters are inept. lol

Agree/Disagree?

I dont know about G GUndam becuase I didint watch it....

but you know,,, I gave this one another look ... I really dont like this art but I hang in there and to my surprice .. the comedy in this one made me laugh. , the characters are a crack up , so unGundam ...

Its Gundam but comedy , almost making fun of a lot of stuff , the color coordinated support team for each Gundam and then the sponsors on the mecha lol...

But then it goes into the we suck mode..

I think I will follow this and see where it goes .

I was just about getting ready to drop this show, but it seems with the way the 3rd ep ended, it kinda got my interest... for the time being. I'll prolly give it yet another ep, but I honestly don't feel very interested in following this series.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that Lt. Smith guy has a humongous nose!... it literally had me wondering just how big his boogers must be, lol!
