It's a bit jarring how badly they seem to be doing after the first episode.
Still haven't made up my mind on the anime, but they need to flesh out the characters more, right now they feel like they're just a collection of cliches.
I feel like the show hasn't moved into the main plot line yet, so I will probably watch a few more episodes.

ya unlike most shows it seems that using a mech is actually hard and not all that easy go figure really like this show tho

I have to admit on the second episode, the character animation has been improved from the first episode, but did that change my opinion on this anime?

I'm hoping for an improvement in this anime. there are parts that intrigue me, then there are parts I just want to skip over. unfortunately, most of episode 2 and 3 were the latter.

Sadly, alot of anime this season are getting off to the same slow start... but you shouldn't judge a season based off of the first two episodes. They are laying the groundwork out for everything to snap. I am personally excited, and yet apprehensive, because at some level I agree with you. Guess we're going to have to wait for summer to roll around and see how they wrap it up ^.^

I was just about getting ready to drop this show, but it seems with the way the 3rd ep ended, it kinda got my interest... for the time being. I'll prolly give it yet another ep, but I honestly don't feel very interested in following this series.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that Lt. Smith guy has a humongous nose!... it literally had me wondering just how big his boogers must be, lol!

Same here. It's not that bad, but I don't feel that interested. However I'll probably keep watching for at least a while longer--just not avidly.

I actually thought the animation was pretty poor in episode three; basically because I found myself noticing the animation at all, and thinking it seemed a little Saturday-morning cartoony.

I did not notice Lt. Smith's nose.

I have to say I'm getting annoyed with Izuru using "hero" in every other sentence. Feel like I'm watching/listening to an 8 year old that is wearing a superman cape.

I watched the available eps this morning because I was bored, and ended up liking the series. If only more mecha anime could take themselves less seriously.

I've just watched the third episode and I just found episode 3 to be better than the previous 2 episodes.

My reaction on liking this episode:

So, my thoughts: it was an okay episode, but so far all this series has managed to be is average.
miscellaneous thoughts:

Kei needs to get a new mech. purple 2 is horrible, it seems to have no weapons and it's only use so far has been to tell the other members of the squad that they should attack the enemy.

Is Izuru drawing the white haired girl? if he is, then that's weird as he only saw her for 10 seconds.
