I'm vegan now and am perfectly healthy strong. Was a carnivore for 25 years of my life and had to make a change for health reasons, not the whole political aspect. After going vegan I've never felt better and definitely won't be going back to my old ways, but I also eat just about no processed foods either so I guess in that aspect I'm not your typical vegan. Oh, and I can not deny that bacon is delicious.

While I don't particularly like the anime Toriko (watched the first few episodes, found it too silly even for my tastes), I do eat meat and love doing it. I more or less agree with the OP that vegetarianism or veganism boils down to personal choice, which can be based upon worldview for some, health for others, and just taste preference for still others (and maybe there are other reasons along the same line as well). I might quite vigorously disagree with worldviews that advocate vegetarianism (to the point of saying they're false), but maintain nonetheless that there's nothing inherently or morally wrong with vegetarianism itself. One can eat or refrain from meat as one chooses. I really do not think vegetarianism will become a worldwide phenomenon for economic or resource/scarcity reasons, though yes, meat is kind of a luxury, and is generally more expensive than non-meats. I do think it is quite possible to be a healthy vegetarian or even vegan (especially in the modern era, given the wider availability and variety of foods, and nutritional science), though it'll require some attention to one's diet-- though I suppose similar attention, though on different details, needs to maintained by the omnivores as well, given our obesity epidemic and the associated chronic diseases!

Myself, I've had to greatly reduce my red meat and saturated fat consumption-- but I can't give it up completely. I'm eating mostly fish nowadays as my primary meat source (with concomitant rise in grocery bill), as well as more vegetables. I can't say I feel better because of it, but I'm hoping I'll indeed live longer and healthier..

It's not about saving pigs it's just that really we came to a point where meat is cheaper than vegetables and that we humans eat more meat than needed. We aren't now eating animals for surviving it's more about the taste and pleasure :/ , thats my reason why i don't eat meat BUT that's my opinion, everyones free to do what they want and I'm not going to cry and bitch arround if anyone eats meat but pls no hate on vegetarian and vegan people too.Respect us too.

Personally, part of me loves beef and chicken. I don't eat pork because pork is not a food source and can make you quite ill. But i can't stomach beef, nor chicken sometimes because i get to thinking about how these animals were slaughtered only to feed us. My family members and i. And tons of other people. I'd be vegan, if i knew how to properly prepare my own meals. And wasn't so disgusted by the texture of pills and vitamins in my mouth and going down my throat. I mostly depend on other people to feed me so naturally i eat whatever's put before me for the most part. But it's something to work on i guess.

As with all groups of people, there are good kinds and bad kinds. Vegetarianism/Veganism as a concept I would happily agree with, as long as it'snot forced upon anyone. It's a personal choice.
I've been pescatarian since I was 9 (No meat, with the exception of fish), and have on a few occasions had vegetarians telling me I'm a disgrace to their culture, and shouldn't 'pretend' to be one of them, and have had friends tell me of vegetarians being offended by them eating meat. Those kinds of people I'm less keen on, but as with most things, if you're doing something that makes you feel good about yourself, and it doesn't obstruct other people's lives, then surely it can't be a bad thing.

If they are allergic, and by allergic I mean that they go into convulsion and start foaming at the mouth, then that's fine, but most of them are just under the delusion that they possess perspective and insight, that they are enlightened or -- in some extreme cases -- righteous, but in reality take everything at face value; they don't understand humans, they don't understand animals, they don't understand nature, they don't understand life, yet they play it out as if they do, and that's revolting.

I couldn't careless about what people choose to eat as long as they don't start to talk about how wrong and disgusting and cruel it is to consume meat.
As for using animal skins for coats, purses etc I have no opinion about that. I'm neither with or against it.

It's a decent thought to making the world a better place plus saving the animals but veganism and vegetarianism can also lead to very bad mineral deficiencies and lead to poor health due to low amounts of B vitamins. ._. It's good to have a mixture, and as humans we don't have a highly developed system of dealing with plant material, its easier for the body to digest meat.

Didn't eat meat for a year, and it gave me diabetes and put me in the hospital a lot. No thanks. I like my meat now.

Good for them. I respect other peoples lifestyle choices as long as they respect mine. I went pescetarian in high school for about two years but I don't think I could go back. I love meat too much. And leather. And fur. Actually the fur is the one thing I do feel kind of bad about...it's such a cute coat though...
