Hataraku Maou-sama!

Devil King Sadao is only one step away from conquering the world when he is beaten by Hero Emilia and forced to drift to the other world: modern-day Tokyo. As "conquering the world" are the only skills the Devil King possesses—and are obviously unnecessary in his new situation—he must work as a freeter to pay for his living expenses!

First Impressions

This show really caught me off guard with its serious comedy. It's so funny to see a devil king end up working in a fast food restaurant to make ends meet with the rent. lol

here's link to my review if anyone's interested

This was hilarious. Loved how it went from being all dark and stuff to being funny as hell watching those 2 integrate into society.

Also, when the underling was talking so fast to himself "Supersize Me" I lol'ed

Don't know what the other shows this season are like, but I bet it will be hard to top this

Episode 1

This was MUCH better than I thought. The beginning part had a serious tone but I laughed at the rest of it. The two main characters were pretty funny to watch.

A lot of the language was difficult to understand so I had to read subs many times. Otherwise, this is a potential candidate for a great series of the year. Only thing that bothered me is that it might of been too rushed as one of the characters is already introduced mid-way from chapter 6. Still though, I could give less shit about that but focused more on the entertainment part which I enjoyed watching.

Another series I was anticipating for and for the most part I enjoyed it.
Some funny moments but not laugh out loud funny.
Hope next episode will be a enjoyable one

oh my the only reaction to say on it all yep “the mighty maou-same has fallen & now working in a mcdonalds”.

yea maou-sama ruling a lot til hero arrive cue him & sidekick travel to modern japan with weird language, low on magic, etc now live as normal people.

even more maou-sama working in a “mcdonalds” indeed how the mighty has fallen & yikes maou-sama got face hero in japan yet the hero is a WOMAN?!

overall this could quite the ha i need to see.

It's cute. It hasn't won me over yet since the whole "fish out of water" routine has been done to death. Still, I had some good laughs by the end of the episode. And the "surprise" at the end should make things more interesting.

I thought it was pretty damn funny at times, but I was quite disappointed seeing how fast the Dark Lord adapted to the modern world and became a minimum wage worker. I thought it'd be much more interesting if he used his and his advisor's wits to build their way up into a higher social status through brilliant scheming and taking over other companies. I guess this easier route allows for more comedy, and it's easier to connect with the audience but if they tried something different than the common "powerful being stuck in modern world and adapts completely," this could've easily became a very notable anime. I guess all I'm worried about is that the Dark Lord completely loses his vision of dominance and learns to love human beings or something, deciding not to take over the world. It'd be even worse if they added a crappy love story.
