Really liking this series so far. The main character is easy to relate to, and the situations he ends up in and conversations he has are often hilarious. Can't wait to see how the series progresses.

SNAFU is military slang for "Situation Normal: All Fucked Up." The literal translation of the title is something along the lines of My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As I Expected, so SNAFU works well in this context.

I agree, as of episode 4 I am still enjoying it but the mistake in the youth romantic comedy seems to be that there is not much romance if any.

Don't worry, we're only on episode 4 and how can you forget Yui

Yeah, Yuigahama clearly has a thing for Hikki. She's too bashful to admit it and Hikki is too dense to notice.

That is not just the literal translation, that is the official translation. SNAFU was a very late change as you can see because the anime actually says:

I have not forgotten Yui. Just a very slow burn if that's where this is going, either way. We're a third of the way through and there just isn't much more than hints and one sided feelings so far. The strongest seem to be toward Saika but that doesn't seem to be going anywhere either...

That was my bad then. I usually skipped the opening and ending so I never saw the title as it appears in the show. >_>

At least that bit got cleared up.

I feel like all these things will come crashing down on him at once, Saika and Yui... maybe even the abrasive girl(forget her name). It seems like this season might just set up the pins to be dropped later on. There is a few LNs as source material(6 i think) so I'm sure they have plenty left to cover before the rom-com takes the forefront. I'd like to get an idea where the show is going though as well because right now it seems too much like Sket Dance.

And on the book at the end too... kind of funny that they went and renamed it SNAFU at the last minute...

Yes, I am also worried that we will be left hanging and it will never be continued... I have a shelf full of light novels that I had to read to find out what happens next, sigh... I really don't need another series to read right now, I have so many already!!!

Definitely can see the similarities between SKET Dance and this but we're 4 episodes in so there's time for distinctions to be developed.

Good ep but the next one will surely get "real" lol

Im not expecting things to go well just because of the shows title alone. Especially this early on in the season.

Most likely for length's sake. My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU isn't as much of a mouthful as My Youth Love Comedy is Wrong As I Expected. And even then, you could just shorten it to SNAFU. Unless there's a show out there that I'm missing that already has that in its title. >_>
