What was even the point... They go back to being "regular" siblings? I've never been this upset with an ending of an anime. I can't even think right now because my mind is numb with rage. UGH!

I didn't hate the last arc, but I certainly did not love it either. I just felt it fell short of the promise of the rest of the series. Not even the choice made, there's no indication that Incest actually occurred and to me it almost felt like Kyosuke more or less just indulged Kirino's fantasy for a time. But there were so many nonsensical events thrown in. Ruri gets exactly what she has said time and time again she wants and gets angry about it. The whole Kanako thing made little sense, If they felt they needed one more confession Saori would have made much more sense as close as the two have been throughout the series. Up to a point Manami makes sense ( I actually would have duked it out too in her place the way Kirino was being snotty) until she walks away from a decade of effort even after hanging in through the Ruri and Ayasi affairs.

I have to agree with that final monologue though a whole lot of this ride made me chuckle, grin, laugh and cry. It's been a good ride. One last time - Cleared for departure.

Probably anyone reading this thread has already seen the Oreimo season 2 OVAs, but just in case you haven't, or in case you want to re-watch, here's a reminder that they were available for a limited time on CR and today is the last day. For more info see updated site news:

The ending annoyed me so much. What was the point of him turning down a relationship with all those other girls just to be with his sister who he was going to leave almost immediately after?

There was only so much they could do to keep everyone in the 'I'm somewhat happy with this ending" range. Too far to incest or just friendship and they probably would have lost a lot more fans, imo.

I, however, would have to agree that the ride along with all these characters was fun. The ups and downs kept me with the series up to now and I intend to buy it. Kuroneko's woeful rejection left me pretty devastated as well and had I known that was going to happen, I probably wouldn't have decided to watch it before work. Haha. Oh well! All in all, it was a fun otaku oriented anime with a meh ending.

You know what is even more annoying? People who don't think about the actions and words of anime character for more then 3 seconds, show how shallow their minds work, and then complain about how annoying and incapable they are of recognizing anything in context. Hell, some even have the nerve to rate and criticize other media and even people in real life.

So, to answer your question

What was the point of him turning down all those other girls for a relationship that was temporary?

Hmmm, well, how about the fact that he learned that his sister's innocence was crushed by his childhood friend, and despite the fact that incest is wrong; he was determined to show everyone that she became an amazing person who is worthy of his love. Its a story and ending worthy of reconciling the fact that children siblings loving each other is a completely innocent even if it is wrong in adulthood.

Plus, you people act as if getting rejected today means they'll stop loving someone and they'll never accept a confession in the future. Its like the idea that someone just isn't ready for a relationship is so baffling and foreign. I mean, its not like Kyosuke needs to grow up or anything, right? I mean, surely he doesn't need to grow out of this silly and delusional idea of living a "normal" life.

Hi everyone I'm here just passing on a message that may or may not apply to you. Apparently, there's a theme or live wallpaper (I'm not sure what it is to be frank with you.) of Kirino and Kuroneko for Android users. Unlike myself, if you know what's going on, check them out There's also a Clock and Battery widget too. Just to understand, I'm not sure if they will work with your device, but if you know they will work; be my guess. Just don't ask me, I'm not in the know about Android's OS.

Anyone else watching Moonphase for their Neko-eared goth loli fix? Hazuki is almost as cute but quite a bit more annoying at times. Pray for a Kuroneko spinoff series!

Wow, this forum has over a hundred pages. Well, the end to me was a very touching sentiment on Kyousuke loving his sister so much that he basically gave up a harem for a limited love with his sister. We learn of the deep connections between the people and all, and the ending is open to speculation. Their love was so great and true. It was beautiful. It went along with not going along with society just because society tells you to, which was the message behind the beginning. Though, it also goes along with the theme that, you still can't utterly go against society so easily.

Well played friend.. I enjoyed the anime down to the very last episode. Thought it was cute :3 Even if he did turn down all the girls for his sister you have to remember those girls will always be there if they really do hold feeling for him and that his so called marriage with his sister was only temporary. Anways I could see him possibly ending up with Kuroneko (Ruri) in the end because they obviously had feelings for each other. Didn't really feel for the whole Ayase x Kyosuke thing the love didn't seem like it was there. Kanako x Kyosuke seemed pretty interesting seeing how they first met and how he has helped her along the way and that confession in front of the live audience took some serious courage even after getting rejected. Saori didn't get enough screen time imo was rarely there and if she was it was over the phone or something weird. Manami was ok until I found out what she did in the past. I found the whole Kirino x Kyosuke pretty cute and didn't mind the ending even though I would of preferred the Kuroneko ending but I could definitely see a Kurosuke ending in the future :3

Specials Report: Shironeko
Hi everyone. I posting a special bulletin for all Ruri fans. On the official site, they are giving out a special Shironeko Screensaver all in part of the volume 4 release. You may hate the series because of the last episodes. I understand to a certain extent, but please remember your love for the characters you hold dear. I love Ruri just as much as I love Kirino, Saori, Kanako, Sena, Bridget, & Ayase

If you know how the system works, you need a keyword to access the screensaver, but fear not; just make sure you follow the instructions, and you should be okay Remember that you only have a limited window before you won't see this again: 2013/9/25 0:00:00~10/22 23:59:59

Thank you

i forgot where but someone said something about kyousuke being adopted?
so then it isn't incest and it would be fine if they got married..
i was hoping for them to say something about it in the last 3 episodes but nada.
