I waited until today to watch it, and I was also underimpressed by episode 1. However, there being an episode 2 nearby, I watched that also, and things developed enough that I'm now a good deal more interested than at the end of episode 1.

The bigger they are the more ..stretched the skin seems, like there just isn't enough to cover the whole body so the muscle shows through where the skin can't cover.

Looking at them they seem like an imitation of humans, like something was trying to imitate something they have only seen through a dirty window.

The biggest question is how did that 50m one get up to the wall with no one seeing it. Clearly the Lightning strike is connected to it but discovering the answer is likely to be the key point to the series.

I's almost sort of so good I don't want to watch it till the season finishes. So I can watch it all in one go without having to wait a week between episodes. >.>

Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region.

Im getting sick of this crap!!. I pay for a premium account and can't watch anything decent.. Looks like yet another amime I have to download from torrent sites. I try to do the right thing and support the anime industry but they don't seem to care, What more can I do.

I'm not sure exactly, but it seems like the lightning strike created that giant one. that would explain how it just poofed ya know?

Also, this show is by far the most fucked up show of 2013, and the most messed up show I've seen in a while

And not in a bad way either!

I just wish the Giants looked more terrifying.. More like the mega titan. The titans just look like crazy and confused giant naked humans. Not really doing it for me.

Two bite brownie!

Too bad Hannes, well any single humans really, are so pathetic in battle at this stage in the story. I know they needed Eren's mother dead so he could swear he would kill all Titans but still, Hannes running away was sad. Others have said he did his duty and perhaps he did but man, not a nice way for her to go. He should have at least left her his sword or something so she had a chance.

I actually feel a bit bad for Funimation. They made their announcement, had video 1 up for a couple of days before Crunchyroll but it seems they still don't have video 2 up. Now no one will watch it there... as a week late it will be up for free on Crunchyroll. Ah well... I upgraded to Elite again and may keep it as I am watching several other shows there and 720p plus no ads is nice though $8 for less shows than Crunchyroll is not as good value, big library though I suppose... and I suspect they really got AoT for the home video rights, will likely dub it too. Streaming is probably secondary to them.

Yeah hpulley, this show seems like one thats just going to keep getting more screwed up the further along it goes.

Kind of like how the human centipede started out disturbingly messed up, but just kept getting more and more disturbing all the way till the end

Yeah, I actually have a couple crazy theories about these "titans" now (I haven't read the manga)!

1) People that were dead (or possibly even alive) are being experimented on (for some reason), and they came to life as a result and are also continuing to grow for some odd reason that I'm not sure of yet, lol. Perhaps there are some mad scientists or something out there that want to cleanse the Earth and start a new "human" race with these mindless beings.
2) Aliens from outer space have invaded and are controlling dead humans and causing them to grow somehow for some bizarro purpose.

I'm really enjoying this series so far. I really like it.

But I do have questions.

What are the titans really? Because right now, they just look like giant humans or giant skinless humans. So how were they made and why are they eating humans?

And Eren. Where did he get the key? And was that really a dream in episode 2 or something more?

Hmm.....
But all in all, loving it despite the gore. This really remind me of Claymore and in a good way too.

I began watching episode one, got interested, couldn't wait for episode two, so I went and read the entire manga in one go. I'll just say that I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
The anime is a great extension of the books, following it almost exactly, but I agree with some others, the titans in the anime just doesn't look as terrifyingly scary as the ones in the manga. The presence of constant hopelessness is also lacking a bit in the two episodes I've seen so far, but I suspect it will grow as the story unfolds further. I think it's what contributes to that lump in your stomach while reading it, since it's not a feeling we "modern" people are really used to. I wouldn't go as far as to say the story is completely unique or original, but there is definitively something about it that differentiates it from other mangas/animes I've seen. It feels very raw in a way. The world is coldly realistic and unforgiving, the way death is present at all times, whilst there is nothing you can do to prevent it. If you are used to and like seeing characters that all act like "stronk"heroes out of nowhere, this might not be something for you. They act very human and show real emotions of fear and how that can effect the mind, a great first example of that was shown from Hannes in episode one.

Well, I don't really know what you expected from a show where everyone they know and love gets devoured in front of them, but okay.

Yum. But I guess they're just too overly-emotional and angsty about it.
