Well, If you would like to learn Japanese I can give you some tips.

Tip 1: Forget everything you know about English sentence structure and pronunciation.
Tip 2: Get used to words having multiple meanings
Tip 3: Find a friend IRL who speaks it to help you learn it through basic conversation.

That's pretty much it from me.

Don't try and learn it alone. If you don't have someone to communicate with in japanese on a regular basis you will forget anything you manage to learn, trust me. Other than that, I would suggest Pimsler's Learn Japanese audio tracks for an extreme beginning and there is a decent learn japanese game out for the DS if you have one, or know of the more shady way of playing DS games.

Avoid Rosetta stone, it doesn't work very well, I don't care what the commercial says. It uses a picture and the foreign word you're trying to learn without ever giving you the english definition. Problem is, alot of the pictures are impossible to figure out what the word is actually for. I remember one was a picture of a kid jumping or falling off a rock, but was the word Jump? Jumping? Falling? Playing? Gravity? no clue what so ever

That report of yours....

Locking this personal thread up.
Please use the Help thread or check out the language groups on cr, pretty helpful in my opinion for beginners.
