First Impressions:

I enjoyed the first episode and can't wait for the next one. The animation and backdrops are really well done in some of the scenes. I think the first half's atmosphere was supposed to contrast with the second half, going from something foreign (deep space) and hectic to something more familiar (the sea) and calm. The whole chase scene in the second half was pretty amusing, chipmunk squirrel things being the one weakness of an advanced human race haha. Anyway, I've got my eye on this show and Devil Survivor 2 being the big shows of this season for Crunchyroll.

Great start so far.

Some of the beginnings parts were a bit confusing but hell, I can live through it. The visuals are stunning though along with the premise. Oh and that soundtrack is pretty damn good.

P.S. Episode 2 is out on the web but we won't see it next week before it gets subbed.

I found the beginning and all the set-up exposition to be a little slower and more boring than usual. The character designs are tops, first noticed when it went to earth and you see the crew. Don't really like the mecha design. It's proportions just feel kinda awkward, the waist narrows in too much imo. Conversational dialog is really well done and engaging, I actually care about what happens to his A.I. and I shouldn't because it's just a machine.

All in all as a first impression goes I'll give it a tentative 7/10, add it to my Q and restlessly shake my leg waiting for the next ep.

It was an good first episode, I didn't know what to expect but overall it was very entertaining to watch.. The story seems really good in my point of view and there are interesting characters.. I was kinda hoping something like this and yeah.. This is definitely one of the series I will be watching...
So I'm really excited to see more..

The first half was visually gorgeous and exciting enough space-battlewise; very flashy. The second half kept things going with setting up and developing a not-flashy situation, and giving us a glimpse of characters we know we'll be seeing more of. It's rare these days for me to watch from start to finish with complete interest, caught up in the moment, and not bored at all, but that's what happened here. Not something I would have guessed from the description.

I've been waiting for this show since it was frist hinted at, I am glad that the first ep was epic and delivered a great experience!

I understood little of the space battle dialogue, I guess it didnt matter much, just random scifi talk. lol The scene switching at the first part was a bit confusing, and the enemy... was... giant space nautiluses? lol

The character designs are worth of a astronomically-budgeted cgi movie as well. Amy's concept art didnt do her any justice. :)

Cant wait for next weekend now!

It would be an injustice of cosmic proportions if the story tanked before the end. The show is just so beautiful... the scifi start was fascinating as well, even if it was jumbled together.

It looks rather promising. I laughed so hard when Chamber translated what Amy said about reproducing with his mother.

Well I was curious about this one since Urobuchi wrote the story and see how this space scifi thriller fairs,.

At first I had the feel of Macross Frontier minus the singing lol...the animation was beautiful , a lot of details, the action sequence were scary but goergeous. I always like the first person perspective of the story telling which our main character is doing the narraction.I was a little worried at first and then the twist happened and I really liked that part. The characters are set very clearly and the initial intro of the story /plot is really unfolding very well .

The music is no less either , very nice.

The director doesnt have a lot in his portfolio but it looks like the original concept was between him and Urobuchi so hopefully this one he will do well. I have a feeling he must wanted to direct this.

I am also loving the numerous seiyuu in this already . So far the new seiyuu Kaito Ishikawa is doing well who is Red the pilot.. I love Sugita san as Chamber and I was cracking up when he was traslating those *** beep**** lines . ..just as you guys said above "HOLY SHIT" and "F something something ...

Also the names of the characters are funny, Pinion,Bevel,Bellow,Rigid,Flange,Chamber.Melty ,Crown, Worm,Striker ... all of these are like nicknames.

Anyway, very strong first episode.

I really like this one..it will be my must watch anime for sure but since Urobuchi sensei is the writer , there must be some pretty dark element in it ....mmmm what could it be?.
