Not new but not the norm. Some stuff comes with English subs these days. Little Busters! and LoveLive! both do. LoveLive! subs are exactly the same as on Crunchyroll so not ugly or badly typeset at all. Little Busters! I haven't compared side by side but I bet they are exactly the same as well.

Truthfully I'm just being a little biased. It just seems silly even licensed releases have that hideous yellow font, oftentimes looks like it isn't properly upscaled for HD with jagged edges, and the cherry on top is being type set like halfway up the screen(ok that's an exaggeration).

Is it wrong to think that they should put some effort into the damn subs? If more companies used the current CR font and were good with typesetting relevant background information like CR has been doing in Chihayafuru 2 I'd be more than happy with it.

I think I just need to learn Japanese so I don't have these problems

No yellow subs in the import versions of Little Busters! or LoveLive! I can't watch TAN for that reason, terrible yellow subs I can't turn off. Actually the CrunchyRoll LoveLive! subs are sometimes pink but on the import disc they are always white.

As for me, I actually prefer no subs at all. I learned Japanese mostly so I could understand manga without waiting for translations that were often bad or wrong anyways. Then turned Japanese translations into part of my job so I could use it all day LOL

Hi guys I am awake ...somewhat lol

The reason for me to buy the Japanese import is that it has all the goodies with it and they are for collecting.... ...

Just saw episode 2. It's an amazing show. I really like how they're doing the language and cultural barriers. I'm definitely keeping this. I think Valvrave is the only show I've thought about this season that I may drop.

I remember the old Samruai Seven dvds being like that, huge yellow font almost in the middle of the screen. It was like I bought something from the 70s. lol

As for the show itself, Amy is so freaking adorable. <3 And that ending... it wasnt even a battle, they just got vaporized and exploded, but ti was really awesome anyway.

Amazing episode! And wow, you do not want to be on Ledo and Chamber's bad side, that's for sure! And agreed, I really hope Ledo/Amy goes somewhere, just 10 episodes left... is it too early to be counting down? Can't wait for the OVAs! LOL

Best Show of the season to this point IMO! Can't wait for next week!

Same day, just a few hours after broadcast in Japan too, thanks CrunchyRoll, Production I.G, Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation, Lantis!

Amy points... I like that. I like how our young seiyuu said that line...before them lights

I love the episode... I love how they end episode 2 with a big statement ...2 thumbs up

Yeah its seem thats Amy's world happened after the second ice age happened. So these folks must be generation after that and not all technology is lost since they still have some robotic technology intact that runs on electricity as it was explained in episode 2.

But I dont want to get technical and scientific becuase there are still holes in the concept , since there is no land.So I assume they must be retrieveing some material from under water.I would assume that there are underwater volcanoes still active. A planet can not survive without the heat being generated from within the core., so I would assume that part has healed on it own too.

Anyway I cant help but think that emergency beacon will do something in the plot of this story ...since anyone out there can hear it ... maybe...Orobuchi sensei
lol....
getting ready to order lol...

Definitely best show of the spring so far. <3

Also: With those pirate boats and the kites, did anyone else expect to see a James Caan pirate captain? lol

oh man that makes me sad...I was under the impression that it would have ~24 episodes. I guess I should have read the release info more carefully...

Hmm, this is only a 13 episode anime eh? That's unfortunate. I hope they don't rush the story.

i just wonder ,

well this is after all an original anime . Its possible that the story its not completely written yet..... but the script is writen to fit 12 episodes.

who knows...lol its Urobuchi sensei .... He wrote Psycho PAss in 22 episodes but the last 3 episodes felt rushed in a way.
