In that order of events, sorry but Masuzu isn't the winner yet

No one's won completely yet BUT this round was definitely Masuzu's win no matter how you look at it. We'll see if your chihuahua can make a comeback though she's the only other one i can see winning.

From the New World was definitely one of the gems this year in anime. It did start off slow and may have turned some people off from it. However, it really did pick up fairly soon after the first few episodes and presented a unique and interesting story. It deserves all the praise it gets and if anyone hasn't watched it yet, I recommend that you do so. If nothing else, you at least owe yourself to go watch/listen to the first ending of the series - "Wareta Ringo" by Risa Taneda. It is by far the most beautiful ending I have ever seen/heard.

But for me the anime that left the most impacting ending in the Winter 2013 season was Bakuman Season 3. I say this because I've been a follower of Bakuman since the very first chapter of the manga. When the Bakuman manga ended, it was a sad day for me but at least I knew that the anime hadn't ended yet. But as they say, all good things must come to an end and the anime run of Bakuman ended for good last month. It was a touching moment to see Mashiro and Azuki finally achieve their dream after 8 long years in the last episode(I may or may not have shed a manly tear when he finally proposed to her.) After following a series for so many years, its just very saddening when it finally comes to its conclusion - I'm sure many of you know that feeling. But thankfully there are always new animes to fill in the void, right?

I am torn between Shin Sekai Yori and Sakurasou.

Nothing left me feeling quite that way, but if I had to pick the one that did have the most emotional impact as it came to a close, I'd say for me, from what I watched, it was The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.

But based on other posts in this thread, and mentions I've run across throughout Winter season, I should give Shin Sekai Yori another try. I'd watched a few episodes when it first came out, but at the time I was keeping my current-anime-I'm-watching roster shorter than I've now come to do, and it got dropped due to not really hooking me (though I was finding it somewhat interesting).

remember harem ending

~~~
we all forgot kotoura-san. i am on firm grounds that the pilot episode for that anime owned every other anime that season although the anime didn't finish strong. The first episode carried so much weight and shouldered the whole series.
For me, it would definitely be Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 2012 and Shinsekai Yori. Psycho Pass is also close there but I didn't feel like other series had more impact than they did.
Regarding Oreshura, somehow I feel like Ai-chan won in the end with that "marriage contract".
That is a good point. Masuzu and Ai-chan In the end were on top it seems then.
An ending so saddening that you just sit...quietly...savoring the bitter sweet sensation of melancholy. For me personally,
it was "Shin Sekai Yori". This series had me feeling very uncomfortable, very out of place and emotionally exhausted. Of
course, this series had a VERY slow start, but once Shin Sekai Yori begins to delve into the focus of it's story and pick
up it's pace, it easily became my priority of the Winter 2013 Anime line-up. So, for those of you who feel that they need to express themselves...feel free:)
P.S: Don't be afraid to say how heartbroken you were when you're favorite series ended:)
I agree Shin Sekai Yori was the best anime I saw during Winter 2013 it seriously left me in tears during the end....so many feels....
every time I think about it i still get teary-eyed again....
It's understandable why so many people dropped this series. But believe me, if you're patient and endure the fist few episodes you won't be disappointed. The beginning acts as more of a reference in my opinion. It's just the structure to the characters and the world that they live in.
Shin Sekai Yori. I think it just culminated all the loose threads so well while giving a tiny glimpse into a hopeful start. The ending actually made me like the series more because it was that memorable.
