I've noticed that Crunchyroll tries very hard to make sure their Licencing purchases are PG13. They are starting to miss some really good Anime that is 17+.
What Crunchyroll needs to do is have a 17+ "Mature" section like Hulu does, where you have to state that you are 17+ to be able to watch the Anime.
And no, it does not mean that Crunchyroll should be showing more Hentai type Anime's...Mature content or themes are not necessarily about sex or to see the genitals of Animated characters...that is for another site for people that want to go there!

That is why Crunchyroll does not have "Date a Live" and "Attack on Titan"...the themes are more mature and are rated 17+

"Date a Live" is was only made available for Japan and Taiwan...but you can find it if you are diligent.
"Attack on Titan" can be found elsewhere also...both are already out and playing!

You know Crunchyroll tries to bid on EVERYTHING right? Whenever they don't, either another licensor got it or they simply don't want to give out streaming rights. That's supposedly why you never see KyoAni getting officially simulcast

A popular rumor is that MBS doesn't want to give out the streaming rights for Titan and as far as Date a Live who knows but it's not because CR tries to get only PG 13 stuff.

I am not aware of what Crunchyroll does in their corporate bids for the rights to licence new Anime for their site. I know that they were surprised when they licensed "So I can't play H" with all the censoring. It was comical to see all the light bars and blackouts, it made some parts almost un-watchable.

I don't even know how far in advance they bid on these show, or how much info they get in the proposal from the studios that are selling it.

My feeling on this, is more of a guess than a fact I suppose and if they try to bid on everything then where is all the hentai Anime?
Crunchyroll is a 13 and older Anime site but to be honest they have a "Ceiling" on what they are willing to show before their lawyers tell them that they are starting to tread in dangerous waters.

They are mindful of what they can show that won't get them sued by the parents of viewers and the MPAA won't come down on them.

Like you I am grateful for what Crunchyroll provides for it's consumers...so I don't fault their decisions. For those that want to see more can always go somewhere else.

I get what your saying and flat out hentai(porn) is probably the ceiling with edgy ecchi(Can't Play H) inching right on the border. They don't skimp out out on action, violence though and darker themes in general like shows akin to Fate/Zero, Madoka

Wow, so cold, cruel and heartless to call Gargantia rubbish. Which titles were you hoping to show up on Crunchyroll?

They said in their Reddit AMA a while back that they bid for everything that is broadcast each season, so if you are seeing a pattern in what they license, you can safely assume that you are seeing a pattern in which production committees are agreeing to license to them, and not seeing a pattern in what they are bidding for.

And the pattern of simulcasts being censored cuts and catalog titles being uncensored cuts has been obvious for the last two or three years. We can be reasonably sure its not a matter of availability of material since the same thing happens when a Japanese subscription TV channel has the uncensored cut before the censored material is first broadcast.

Oh for crying out loud. Crunchyroll doesn't censor anime . The Japanese licensor does that, and often times it's because they(the Japanese) want to sell more BD/DVDs where they are uncensored. So yeah when Crunchyroll simulcasts something, it's often times censored.

But here's the thing: Crunchyroll has nothing to do with the frigging MPAA, and they do have uncensored shows that they got from R1 companies like Media Blasters:

These are uncensored:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/ikkitousen
http://www.crunchyroll.com/kanokon
http://www.crunchyroll.com/queens-blade

I would rather not have those stupid rumors that Crunchyroll censors or that there is some "ceiling" as to what Crunchyroll will bid for, when those stupid rumors are blatantly false.

The reason people think like that is because, in some cases, fansub version was less censored then crunchy. But it's simply because Crunchy get version from tv with more strict censorship. Some TV station mostly satellite one can show less censorship, but i guess their version is unavaible sometimes. Well they stated year or so ago that they try to get the less censored one if the can. I can only hold that's true. It's like they also say they try to get worldwide licences every time. Unfortunately trying and getting are two separate things. We can see a success rate of trying every season. I think success in censorship is higher :D

It would be great through if they could update uncensored/less censored version later...
But i'm guessing that some retards asked to be paid for less censored version the some amount as for new show.

Do anybody know of page where i can check if it's worldwide licence or not? Usually i can bet that if it's available for me it's worldwide, but there are exceptions.

Why you no Azazel-san?

Edit:
You added a question mark to your simulcast. Did you an Azazel-san?

I am very surprised that this a premium subscriber only series however. I've been a regular on CR since around 2009 and the the only premium exclusive series they had was Fairy Tale.
Maybe for simulcasts but there are other premium only shows for the US in the catalog. The original Naruto series, Anohana, and the earlier parts of Bleach just off of the top of my head
