When i was a youngster all i did was read, wasn't allowed to go out much, i had nearly been kidnapped twice. Spent hours entertaining myself with books, creating stories about the people outside my window

Yes, a lot. I even stay there all night (this is a university library and our library is open 24/7) at the moment, yeas, a few more weeks until university is over, then I probably wont visit the library as much. Its not as fun if you have to study there aha

I work part-time in a library with two floors; the first and bottom floor is sectioned for young adults and adult while the second floor is stationed for children. Typically, I work at the first floor but I switch to aid those upstairs when there's not much to do. The observations I've made is that many and most people come to the libraries for the usage of the computers -- most people use it for browsing social media and gaming. There are people who read but they are the minority in this case; some visit the library to hopefully work in peace but, like I mentioned before, they are the minority. And then there are time when the homeless come in and use the library as a housing unit.

That's just the first floor, though. The children's floor is a complete hectic mess. Chaos is ensured on the weekends due to the vast amount of people coming in and the children run around screaming treating the library as a playground. They make a lot of noise and there's nothing the staff can do about it -- our positions and jobs are in jeopardy if we kick people out for no good reason; overall, I believe that libraries have dissolved from a place for resources into a housing unit for these people.

Then why would it be called a library if you didn't have any purpose on reading a book or taking it out.

I always read at the library, its for my entertainment.

I just go there to look smart.

No, but seriously. When i borrow books, i usually take them home. But i pretty much never visit the library. I usually prefer to buy my books.

Nope. I do the opposite. I donate books to the library.

When there was a library near by my house, I would go there all the time and read books, manga, comics.
Now Charlotte decided to shut most of them down.
So I read books online.
