There are so many website, books and every stores in the US that can tell you the value of an old collectable American comics. Does anyone know where you can appraise you anime/ manga stuff? For example how much does a cel from Cardcapters Sakura (see image) is worth? Or whats the most rare manga collection?? Is is all the Japanese/ american stuff really worthless?

Someone more knowledgable about the anime/manga secondary market, feel free to respond. Meanwhile, I'd say what something is worth is what someone else is willing to pay for it-- to put it simply. Until someone makes a bona fide offer to buy, any quoted value is more theoretical than actual. Also, value is subjective. An average joe who doesn't know anime at all might not pay you 5-cents for that cel, but maybe if you find the right collector/buyer who just HAS to have that item, you could get much much more. I'd guess if you take your cel to, say, an anime shop to get an appraisal, the staff there will essentially research among their potential buyers (e.g. collectors and such with whom they have some working relationship) to gauge any potential interest, and then quote a price along the lines of what they themselves expect to get in return (with, of course, a suitable profit tacked on). You might be able to do something similar yourself by, for example, posting on a site like eBay and seeing what (if any) bids come up.

A cel is essentially a unique item, but you could search retailers to see if any are selling similar items, and the prices given may give you an idea of what it might be worth. For something like anime figures, for which hundreds or even thousands of genuine examples for each figure might exist ( and who knows how many bootlegs?), there could well be an active robust secondary market for it-- probably more likely in Japan than anywhere outside-- and it wouldn't surprise me if there are actual published price guides (like the Scott catalog for postage stamps) for these. They'll probably be all in Japanese, of course!

I would love to but I've notice many comic shops stay clear away from Anime/Manga resale. I'm lucky if the give me 20 cents per manga issue. SOOO SAD

I read somewhere that unlike American Comic collectors ,the Japanese really do not value collectables. They don't have the same social need to accumulate memorabilia. Where as in the states it is generally known that Superman's Action Comic #1 is the most rarest comic book and worth 2.1 million, Japans most sought out manga isn't clearly stated. The manga/anime worth is bases solely on personal opinion. The value lies within what the fanboy/girl is willing to pay. I think its interesting how our two culture have different perspective on a similar product.
