Every season the quality and the quantity of the anime that Latin america is receiving is getting worse what do we need to do in order to receive the same treatment that the users of USA.

Sorry for the bad grammar. One would expect that over time there is an increase in licensing animes for each season, but the amount of anime that has been licensed has been declining.

That kind of fitness discourages consumers to continue supporting the service. The goal is to fear CR LA same amount or exceed credits CR catalog EE.UU., however that goal is now unlikely.

To sum up what everyone's been saying, we need better options to increase the roster of LATAM users. What I tend to see is that most users don't have access to international credit cards, and wish to be able to pay via SMS once more, and, to be quite honest, there are actually a ton of options to process subscription pays in local currencies, however with a slight increased cost. Nonetheless, increasing the roster could probably solve the complaints on lag issues, a limited catalog, and nonesensical region restrictions (which, we know, are due to the publishers, but, again, if the region grows in users, that could be solved), and as to the problem with horrible translations (I've seen quite some people complaining about it) you could recruit some spanish speaking english to spanish translators from the region itself, but this last suggestion might fall due to my lack of knowledge on your translation staff :P
Hope we get a swift response, at least someone saying "we're aware of your concerns, we're currently looking at them"...something, if not... this could mean a lot of people ending their subscriptions.

Hey everyone! I wanted to reach out and thank you for your feedback, as well as give some updates on service in Latin America.

In regards to Licensing...

We are constantly working on providing equal access for content to all users world wide. Using one of our biggest providers, TV Tokyo, as an example I can tell you this. TV Tokyo only handles licensing for part of the content broadcast on their channel. There are other licensors who handle international licensing for the remainder of their content. As we've only launched in Latin America a year ago, not everyone is ready to start licensing content to the region. They're waiting for the service to develop so they can see how licensing to this region would benefit their business models.

As far as the decrease in shows licensed each Season, I've asked our licensing team for further information and here is what they've let me know (one of the licensing team is currently in office rather than in Tokyo):

"We're still trying hard to get more shows, even this season."
He let me know that we should have further information in the next couple days. I'll be able to update as that comes available.

Another thing with licensing is that when Crunchyroll was young, we had even less simulcasts, even in the US. The number of shows obtained fluctuated from season to season. It took two years for stable growth to occur, and to be able to offer more than 20 Simulcasts per season, continuing and new.

In regards to Billing & Payment options...

First off, I can let you know that we -have not- increased the fees for service as indicated earlier in the thread.
Drama and Anime Memberships are $6.95 a month, and the All-Access Membership is $11.95 a month.
This may vary depending upon whether your local currency is supported during check out.

We are working on new payment options for Latin America, however as there are many different countries it has been important to do the appropriate analysis to pick payment methods that can be used by a majority of the users.

In regards to SMS, due to the very high transaction fees by carriers, we would have to increase the Membership fee by triple in order to give the same amount of each Membership back to the content creators in Japan. As this would be much more expensive, we've decided to postpone this for now and plan to offer other payment types with less required markup.

In regards to Streaming & Connectivity Issues...

First off, apologies if it has come across as us 'blaming' your connections. This has never meant to be the case. When users reach out to us with streaming issues, we do our best to troubleshoot one on one to resolve the streaming issues encountered.

The Speed and Ping tests that we have you initially run are meant to rule out the possibility of a connection issue, not to point blame at the service your ISP's are providing you.

Our Operations and Business Development teams are working to improve connectivity issues encountered in Latin and South America. Each day we learn more about DNS issues these regions face, and we are currently working on improved connectivity with additional infrastructure partners. This includes the addition of new CDN's in your regions as well as smarter CDN selection.

I do apologize for the delay in responding, I just wanted to make sure I covered all points raised in the last two pages.

If anyone has any other questions, or concerns, please let me know and I'll follow up internally.

Best Regards,
-Bjaker

Easy answer here is yes, it is going to take time to build the trust with our partners that Latin America is a viable marketplace, etc etc etc.

When Crunchyroll went legit, I think there were 2 shows the first season it did simulcasts.

COMPLETE ASIDE!!!
My little sister is getting married this weekend so I take off tomorrow.
I'm still waiting for that follow up news from Licensing, but I'll be out of town until Monday.

So if it doesn't come in today, hopefully I'll have an update then.

Thaks for your answer, Bjaker.

I understand this'll take time but if we still must wait to have more licensing each season, I wonder if at least it would be possible that the older shows translations to Spanish could be faster. There are still many shows wich have English subtitles only (mostly because are acquired before April 2012). Regarding those ones are currently available in Latin America, I suppose that the only additional cost would be the translation and subtitling. So why this process is advancing too slow?

Just spoke with our licensing guy.
I may have been a little ambitious about the near term announcement, but as soon as I have information on that I'll definitely let you all know.

In regards to older titles that are currently available in Latin and South America, but do not have an English Translation...

Please give me a list of shows you all want translated!!!

I can not promise that we will be able to, but the licensing team will certainly approach the publishers to see if we can obtain the rights to translate currently available content into Spanish. He let me know that he's also working with the head of the translation team for a list like this, but asking you all directly seems like a great way to get feedback as well.

Again, please let me know if there are any other questions or concerns I can address & thank you for the well wishes for my family!

I'll tell my sister that Latin & South America wish her congratulations on her marriage.
