Honestly, I'm a little mad about this chapter. There's no way it should have been that easy to convince Sasuke to help. Isn't what Hashirama told Sasuke exactly what Naruto was trying to tell him, to protect the village your brother protected! Why is it just cause the first Hokage said it now he is gonna change his mind! Wtf! I really wanted to see the battle between Naruto and Sasuke. I dont see how they are gonna do that now

Sasuke was basically told what the outcome of his fight with Naruto would be. Sasuke would die just like Madara "died". Sasuke doesn't know yet that Madara lived and saved Obito.

I don't think Hashirama's story is what really convinced Sasuke - I believe his brother had already convinced Sasuke of the reasons he protected the village. At the point that Sasuke and Itachi are fighting against Kabuto, I believe Sasuke already knew the route he was going to take. I believe once Orochimaru popped into the picture, and Hashirama and the other Hokage's related their stories, it just further reinforced the direction Sasuke was going to begin with.
Besides that, Sasuke's reaction isn't really that surprising - his whole life he has idolized Itachi (even when he fought so hard to get revenge against Itachi, he was still trying to live up to the type of shinobi his brother was). If all of a sudden he still decimated the Leaf village after finding out how hard Itachi strived to protect it by giving up his everything...it would really be going against Sasuke's character and would be going against everything his brother tried to achieve.

I found the chapter to be pretty enlightening and uplifting. I never thought Sasuke was really a bad character...and I think Naruto being the "child of destiny" should be able to do what Hashirama and Madara weren't able to - which is uniting all the shinobi clans.

Was I the only one who didn't know that Karin was an Uzumaki clan member? Was that mentioned before and I just missed it somewhere? So technically, she is related to Naruto...just seems like a coincidence somewhere in there...

This. You stated exactly what I would have said, and have been trying to open people's eyes to. Itachi's reincarnation had a larger impact on Sasuke than anything. He had not heard from his brother's mouth what had really happened, just stories and lies.

It was stated somewhere in chapter 579 - Karin being an Uzumaki.

Now for my own thoughts:

I /loved/ the subtle humor in this. Sasuke's look when Karin hugs him, the reference of being stuck with four ultra power zombies and three crazy strong guys. Hilarious.

Also, Hashirama's character entertains me so much. He really does remind me of Naruto in a lot of ways. 'specially the end (which was fun and entertaining to me).

I cannot wait to read on. I look forward to the interactions between the Hokages and everyone else. I also cannot wait for the whole group to see Naruto battling.

There is a twist in here somewhere. I don't know where, but it is coming. Still, it is about time Sasuke finally came to his senses.

Chapter blew my mind! Kinda... Thought I knew how the rest of the series would play out, but maaaann.... Still not entirely convinced that Sasuke just flipped switches on us like that. I'm thinking he's just playing the hokages, tricking them to get to the battlefield (well really only need to trick Hashirama since he's powerful enough to move himself still) then sasukes just gonna make orochimaru pull the pin and 'boom'... everyone's fighting the hokage now, who knows though? And why would anyone want the series to end so soon after the war arc without them showing Naruto finally doing what we all thought the show was about way back when...? C'moooooon....

I thought the chapter was great, it gave me nerd chills I haven't felt in a while from this series lol. My only concern is the final Naruto and Sasuke fight, maybe Sasuke is tricking them somehow, I mean how can you tell the 3 kages to their faces that you want to destroy the village lol. And oh yeah, Karin is a retard, after all that and she still likes Sasuke.....

I have mixed feelings like everyone else. I feel like the mangaka lied to me, because he made sasuke look like the human form of Evil and Revenge when he killed Danzo (we all know what happened after that).

Now Sasuke looks like the savior of this war, I say this because i been to other forums and seen posts saying that it was hard to believe that Naruto and Co. could defeat monsters like Madara and the 10 Tails. Now Sasuke is going to arrive with four Demigods and things are going to be easier, maybe.

To me it seems really forced to make sasuke a good guy, maybe the mangaka wants to delay or cancel the Naruto VS Sasuke showdown, clean sasuke's name, and have a nice ending after the war.

I am angry because the mangaka still has a lot of things to explain in the narutoverse like; Obito, Madara, and Nagato being a Sage Path or something like that, That means there are still 3 paths left right?
Also We have to see Naruto act as Hokage or at least with his coat, i hope you guys remember The 5th was in half .

Maybe the Naruto Vs Konohamaru is an impossible dream now that Naruto probably is a Sage Path as well.

Anyways, I am excited to see the shock Sasuke and the Hokages are going to make. I also consider that sasuke is thinking i do things the way i want and Infinite Tsukuyomi is for puss*es.

As for the gift from the 4th Hokage is most likely the other half of the Kyuubi chakra sealed inside him or just a big speech and a hug infused with his techniques.

I don't agree. First, not all people who don't want to see the home their brother died for are good guys. Also, who says he was ever 'bad'. Yeah, he did bad things and was very, very clouded by anger and jealousy. Still, though, I never saw him as a 'bad guy'. Even so, his helping in the war has been building for /so/ long. Since he first left the village he has had people trying to convince him to come back - to show him that there is a better way. Finally it is when his resurrected brother tells him the truth that it all hits home.

Personally, I felt it was well done. Do I think everything is settled? By no means.

Plenty of time. The manga will be going into 2014, according to the mangaka.

It is never promised that he will become the Hokage. Also, as I stated, still time left.

I would be interested in it being the chakra... but I don't know if it can be released, due to the nature in which it was sealed. I could be wrong. I'd be cool with a hug. :D

... two freaking weeks.

Lets try this, Sasuke ends up sacrificing him self to save naruto, even though he didnt really want to his body just moved "Again" yes yes I know you guys are like but his clan needs to come back, or he wont do that shit...but what If kishimoto makes that sasukes "ultimate apology" save naruto or sacrifincing himself for the village and being a hero....

even though neji died......so Idk about my prediction

SN: I was watching alot of sasuke fights with my bro! and Sasuke DID NOT GIVE NO FUXS. He almost killed karin, Sakura, and used orochimarus snake to survive the bomb from DeDE THAT WAS SO FUXED UP AND FUNNNY. HE was coold blooded man...wow..

My prediction:

Sasuke and crew arrive at the final battle to find that the battle is already over. The alliance was successful in defeating Obito and Madara and they are starting to celebrate their victory.

I marked the hell out (Wrestling jargon for getting hype with overflowing excitement) I wasn't expecting for Sasuke to fight for the leaf at all. I cant wait to see Naruto's reaction to see him back.
Im not one for predictions so I'll just stay silent and wait till Wednesday to see what happens next.

Wasn't sasuke just confused after he talked with itachi? Then Hashirama made it much more clear for sasuke what the path is he should take.

You'll have to wait a bit longer. End of the chapter said we'll be skipping a week, but will get a double copy the following week.

You likely were reading fan articles, honestly.

http://www.saiyanisland.com/2012/07/masashi-kishimoto-naruto-still-has-more-surprises-left/

That interview was released last July or so. In it, Masashi Kishimoto says this: "Nishio-san, who takes care of the character designs for the anime, also asked me for how long the story would continue and I answered “About one year and a half”. But it seems like it will take longer than that."

Depending on when he told Nishio that, it would mean the manga would have gone until around 2014. However, he said it'll take longer than that.

Also, from a tweet by Kishimoto on April 4th, 2013: ‏Tweet #100: using my 100th tweet to kill all the rumors - Naruto will not end very soon, he'll be around for quite a while.
