And the master of screws starts with a plan... no, no, no...

So many tropes in this show that it is hard to watch...and yet I'm still watching. Not sure I'll want to watch this again but silly as it is, it is a fun show the first time through anyways. The art is not great but it is interesting. The music is pretty good. Just feels like a bit of a jumble of parts of shows and ideas for shows rather than a whole show with a coherent plot so far. More screws loose than...

I honestly stopped caring and episode 3 wasn't so bad, there was one moment I had to facepalm. Overall it went up (not that it could go dow...) anyways it got a bit better.

also the first 3 seconds of majestic prince opening is great but the rest sucks, should be on this anime instead

L-elf's request at the end puts a new spin on the series though, it also shifts the objectives from Defense to Offense.

so the plot of the series is basically, Operation: Valkyrie with Mecha, and hopefully a happy ending

I am trying to like this show, but it is proving difficult. When the most believable part of the entire episode is that you presidents and celebrities want to befriend you on twitter, you know there is something really wrong. Where did the guy get explosive from? where did he get the missiles he fired? how did he manage to rig 8 floors with explosives, a smoke screen, and overwrite airlocks so quickly?
I am giving this show two more episodes, due to always giving a show 5 episodes before passing judgement, but this dont look good for this show.

He had 15 minutes from time of escape to time when they rushed him...he must have MacGyver'd all of that with a rubber band, a toothpick, an empty bottle of shampoo, and a match stick lol

...yeah that part wasn't believable as was him being able to throw the chair screw hard enough to break the lights while his hand was tied haha

Your Macgyver item list is cracking me up!

I swear this show is really only fun because the of the discussions here which make it seem even more hilarious. Ridiculous is the only word for this show, and yet its still kind of fun, isn't it? And the same people who did Amnesia eyes did them for this show I'm sure...

its definitely fun to watch (pink explosions man, its Eureka Seven all over again)

its just hard to not see this as a re-skinned Code Geass

not the exact wording but "The Valvrave will reveal the truth of the world" and "Geass has the power to change the world"

You're taking it seriously?

You're doing it wrong. This is a show you DON'T take seriously period. It's playing off of the typical mecha formula.

L-elf's character seems to be based entirely off of a 9 year old's Sephiroth fanfic that they found in a box in the attic.

Because like, Lelouch, he is a SCRIPTED 'genius'. rule number one to being a 'badass' get the author on your side.

Lelouch was a believable tactical genius though, and it at least showed his plotting. He didn't just kill 8 or 9 people with a screw and an absurd series of coincidences. They also bothered to show Lelouch developing as said tactical genius.

L-elf just shows up and we're suppose to believe he's a super amazing awesome bad ass because nameless extras are afraid of him. >.>

the fact he got explosives and set them up for like 5 floors in 15 minutes is absurd

I never said I did ...

This anime started with a lot of so I never took this anime seriously since the begining or else I wont be able to have fun watching this mecha anime that tried so hard to be a serious anime . I could easily dropped this one but I am having fun with all the factor. Its entertaining.

Nothing typical about a mecha pilot vampirizing people allowing him to take over another person's body and then being able to go back to his own body. Secondly, what mecha anime have you seen which the pilot was asked by the mecha programing if he was willing to give up his humanity to pilot the mecha? I understand the criticisms of the main character, but I still wonder what a lot of people expect in 3 episodes. It's almost as if each episode isn't the best thing since sliced bread then it's a disappointment. I've seen a lot of mecha and yet I don't consider this the biggest disappointment of spring 2013. Oh well, I'm sticking with this until the end. This is off the subject sort of, but I'm finding Valvrave much more entertaining than Chihayafuru 2
