Synopsis

The second season will focus on The Sisters Arc. Lasting only a single volume in the Toaru Majutsu no Index light novels, it was later expanded greatly in the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga.

The arc focuses on the ordeals of Mikoto Misaka after discovering the existence of the Radio Noise sisters that are being used in the Level 6 Shift, an experiment where they are killed in order for the highest-ranking Level 5, Accelerator, can achieve Level 6.

First Impressions

Off to a bit of a slow start but this was a good episode. Pretty good action on the second half and watching Misaka in action gave me a smile. I guess this started off a bit slow in terms of the "Sister's Arc" but I'm still excited on this show.

SHE IS COME BACK. The ED song was a beauty. I'll play it on repeat for quite a bit for this show.

Holy shit @ the ED song. It's a bit spoilerish but I am ready for it.

It's good to see a lot of the supporting cast return especially Haruue. I hope Juufuku makes an appearance even though I didn't see her in the opening.

I'm not sure if she'll show up because this is based on the Sister's Arc rather than the Level Upper arc which has concluded from season one. Would be cool to see her make a brief cameo though

Certainly, but I really enjoyed the filler episodes from the first season because you really got to know the lesser prominent characters so I'm sure the supporting cast will be on display in this seasons filler plot arcs/episodes. I don't see the Sisters arc taking up every episode of a possible 2 cour(haven't heard if it is or not but its safe to assume so), though it's effects may be felt in the filler.

You're probably right about that as they might add filler episodes in between the arcs. However, based on the OP song, I can almost say safely that the majority of this series will be based on the Sister's Arc.

What surprised me the most from today's episode is the fact that...

I'm just a little bit obsessed with the toaru-verse, but I don't really like manga as a reading format, so I'm excited to be able to see more of the Railgun story in anime format. It'll probably help put off the day when I finally break down and start reading the Railgun manga.

I'm excited to see..

One more thing I want to point about the OP song is that it is a bit misleading.

Manga spoilers:

But still, I am quite excited for the fight.

this can be a hit and miss anime. as we all know Touma makes both anime good. So if Touma does not show up in the next two episodes this anime most likely fail. But I think they understand that and so added in the end a 5 sec.. part with Touma standing on the bridge making a remark.

I can only speak for myself, but I couldn't care less if Touma was in Railgun S or not. For me, the dynamic between the four girls really makes the show, and Touma isn't a part of that. Besides, this anime covers the Sisters Arc, right? We've already seen that from Touma's point of view, so I don't think he should be made too prominent.

Touma is a joke of a MC, I watch Railgun for its far more interesting cast. I watch Index for the side plots that don't involve that annoying munchkin and Touma who manages to solve every plot with punching somebody until they stop being evil.
