I'll be different here. I enjoyed both Index 1 and 2. Also thought the times where Touma and Misaka were together made it even better. Lot of dislike for Touma going around but he played an important role vs Accelerator and helping the "sister" situation. I wouldn't mind seeing him involved in this second rail gun season (I haven't read the manga so who knows what will happen but just my opinion.)

How does one marathon something that isn't out yet? Unless you meant Index.

My DVDs of Railgun S1 arrived last Tuesday from RightStuf. Plus the dubs have been streaming for Funi subscribers.

S1 is still on Funimation in addition to episode one of S2. Episode ones are quite similar however, could be more original!

Mini Misaka is best Misaka.

Loved the episode but I don't love the fact that I have to wait week after week to enjoy it. I could actually go and read the manga though but I'd feel like I'm spoiling myself.

Another epic episode this week even though the first half seemed a bit fillerish. Make no mistake though as this is the Sister's Arc from the manga and that scene at the warehouse was epic especially with Nunotaba.

Yeah this second episode was pretty incredible. It made tons of references to Misaka's clones and it ended with the creepy girl, Nonotaba Shinobu, saying to Misaka: "So... you're the original." To be continued... It was pretty epic. The beginning was really good too because it pointed out that Railgun SS liberal arts city Light novel is being animated in the second season. This does include some magic! Misaka and Saten will be fighting this as well as Kuroko and Uihara. Touma makes some very very very important appearances in this arc. The battle between Misaka and ITEM will be incredibly amazing... The ending looks saddening especially with its sad theme and lyrics. It is foreshadowing the fact that the happiness of the first season was a one-time thing and bad things are coming and things will never again be the same. It is a really good ending in terms of pictures and lyrics, even though nothing compares to fripside's opening.

Last thing is that the third episode is called "Radio Noise plan", the third episode is the start of absolutely everything. You will be chilled to the depths of your bones. If episode 3 doesn't do it, then episode 4 will. Episode 4 will most likely make you depressed. Episode 3 will most likely make you unwilling to wait for episode 4 and will make you think... omg what is going on!

Also, for those people who hate Index. Sure, the anime could be done a lot better. But Touma, Index, and many other characters are done much better in the Light Novels. If the anime were to even show all of what has happened so far it would need at least three more seasons. The light novels are done much better even though I still really liked Index seasons 1 and 2. I think the railgun manga is excellent though. However, the best part of Index is the sequel series of Light Novels. Just so you guys know: there are three main male protagonists in Index: Hamazura Shiage, Touma Kamijou, and Accelerator (original name unknown). They all have their own groups of friends and people helping them. There is a lot of overlap between Railgun/Index. You guys just haven't exactly seen it yet.

In my opinion, both railgun and Index happen in the same world so you should like both. If you hate on the anime, don't call the series bad. The anime doesn't even come close to the Light Novels. The Light Novels have ranked #1 for about the last 5 years. Misaka's the #1 female character. Touma's the #1 male character, Accelerator either the #2 or #3 male character. Index is high ranked as well. So... you guys should realize that Index is actually pretty good, at least in its light novel form.

Last thing for all of you people, if you thought Misaka flying with Kuroko was cool from episode 1... That's nothing compared to Misaka flying solo later during the Liberal Arts city arc that they confirmed they will be animating. If you're excited about something good watch that. I also can't wait to see Railgun vs. Meltdowner, Railgun Vs. Accelerator, and I hope they put in Railgun Vs. Attackcrash as well. They are probably saving Railgun Vs. Mental Out in full for next season but we will see.

I have serious issues with the way the Index anime was done, it's one thing to have short arcs kind of like Gosick but it's quite another when they feel so disjointed and unconnected. Both Touma and Index are horrible characters at least with how they are portrayed in the anime, I can't speak for the LNs as I'm currently reading others right now and I'm kinda scared to start a 23 volume series. However Accel and Misaka stood way out when I watched Index as good protagonist/antagonists so it wasn't a total lose. Railgun anime is far better paced because it isn't plot after plot after plot, there is "filler" in there to let you get to know and like characters outside of life threatening circumstances. Stuff like that isn't for everyone I understand but I hate extremely rigid interpretations like Index seems to be since it's just blasting through light novels the entire time.

I'll never agree Touma is a good protagonist though I've already stated why he is a complete mess so I wont rehash that. Maybe he's not so bad in the light novels but I'm willing to bet he still makes his lame speeches and punches all his problems away because that's his one trick.

RightStuf has become one of my retailers of choice as of recent and they've been known to send out pre-orders as soon as it rolls into the warehouse. Plus their prices are usually lower than most big box names.

Whoa season 2 got crazy with Ep 3 and the revelation of Misaka clones and the mysterious Shinobu. BTW Misaka has learned to use her Railgun powers in spying. Also Kuroko was quite naughty while Misaka away.

The original

Is Shinobu Misaka's Sister(clone)?

Nope, they're not even remotely related except that she is involved in this arc, the Sister's Arc.
