Let me just butt in here right quick. A person can't be a spin off. Touma is a character. Misaka is a character. Railgun is a spin off of Index. Each character being a sub character of sorts in the other's show. So regardless of how you feel about them they could never truly be a spin off.

Now as for Railgun S, that last episode was GREAT. While the Silent Party arc felt a little rushed, overall I enjoyed the story quite a bit as it kinda played off of the Sister's arc. But it's hard to top Accelerator and the Sisters bcide says to express his thorough enjoyment of the series.

I'd say one of the best of the year so far. Now to wait for Index III

Anyways, the series was decent but the Silent Party arc was trash imo. I never got attached to it and I originally thought that some other characters would make cameos but nope.

On the other hand, the Sister's Arc was glorious though and I praise JC Staff for its adaptation in that. However, the Silent Part arc just didn't work out for me. In the end, I had to rate this a 7/10 for the series. The finale was weird...with Saten and her mecha, ITEM going all out against science, and those spaces scenes.

Sister's Arc: 9.5/10
Silent Party arc: 4/10
QFT. Initially it felt kinda bad to give the series a 7, but then I remembered that even the start of the first half wasn't that great. It was "only" the episodes 5-15 that were pure gold.

I didn't really like the ending as it was basically shouting screw the physics, I have friendship throughout the whole episode. It probably doesn't bother others as much, but for me that's one shounen element that has gotten too old to be even meh or funny.

They gave Saten a Mecha

right then and there the series hit the peak of awesome for me.

She's exactly the right person to be piloting a giant robot.

Well, that's a wrap. I liked both sides of the series, obviously one greater than the other. Nothing too spectacular for me even in the sister's arc and not because it was in Index, but it got kinda over emotional at times. Still very good and at least it was better than Index II which was pretty ass.

So...im just going to assume that manipulative esper was the one that the clones were based off of. Btw, we literally saw her twice in the whole show lmao I don't want to give this a 7 but some off the little flaws are bothering me. ...whatever imma say 8 just because the anime entertaining. I have to start rating more harshly...

I liked Railgun S in it's entirety, but there were some parts of the story that kinda irked me. For example, the sister arc, i wish there was more interaction with Kuroko, Uiharu, and Saten, because it just seemed to be a Misaka-fest. Now, I understand the nature of the arc is about Misaka, her clones, and her attempted "self-atonement," but I loved the clones, it was just Misaka that i got fed up with.

That being said, I loved Misaka in the final few episodes (once she got her act together and asked for help from her friends)

I'd probably rate it a 7 or 8 overall, very enjoyable to watch

well, as much as I didn't really like episodes 17+, it was a decent last episode. hoping for another season of Railgun sometime down the road.

See that got my interest. I'd intentionally quit watching because it always annoys me that the show COULD be centered on Saten and UIhara, which would be interesting, but instead it's centered on Misaka which is trite.

Seeing they did something with saten, and it's something nuts I've gotta at least go look

That was great.
Sister arc is really god-like while Silent party arc is ok to me.
how i enjoy this anime?

episode 1-4 : Hyped
episode 5-11 : This is getting kinda dramatic
episode 12-15 : Holy Crap! that was too damn awesome!
episode 16 - 23 : it was ok, Febri is really cute though
episode 24 : OMG!!!! everyone went badass to kick Robot ass!

I like Misaka so much! great characters, FripSide is always the most epic singer, good art style.

Overall score : 10/10

Waiting for Index III
i hope J.C. staff will adapt all To aru light novels/manga.
also Accelerator needs to get his own anime spin-off series so he is now the main character of the series while Last Order is the comic-relief character.

I think the contrast between the Sisters arc and the Silent Party arc is actually pretty good.

In Sisters she kept trying to do everything on her own and every time it seemed like 1 step forward 2 steps back for her. By the end she was ready to throw away her own life in a desperate effort to stop things cause she couldn't see any other way.

but in Silent Party she steps up and asks her friends for help, and they are there for her no questions asked. together they make an impossible situation turn out for the best. She recognizes that even the strongest can't do things alone.

I think it's a splendid amount of growth in her character.

I think you hit the nail on the head. also, as nasty as they make accelertor it's hard to really HATE him if you know how he redeems himself in the on the index side. the butthurt non-esper genius' though. yeah enjoyed watching their metaphorical faces hit metaphorical pavement.

and without that arc we could not have had the epicness that was episode 24.

Lots of funsies here at the end. I really enjoyed watching Kongo fight & it's always a good day when the Sisters get in on the action.

I know there's a LOT more material out there, so I hope to see it keep coming.

There IS a second season of Index, right? Just not licensed in NA.

EDIT: Oh, and cheers for the reappearance of my favorite fripSide theme from either season, "-level 5-judgelight"

I've really come to like Kongo. Did not expect to cause I though she was just another ohjo-sama character

despite her apparent ego and boldness she is actually a very self-concious young woman with a bit of insecurity. She wants to be friends with people but she's honestly a little nervous about asking them.

kind of an anti-Tsun Tsundere. Replacing the hostility with bold friendliness and feigned confidence.
