Oh look, Australia get screwed over again. Hard to see the point in continuing to get premium If the only things to look forward to don't even get released in your country. Damn I'm sick of this licensing crap.

If it really bothers you that much then unsubscribe, and tell CR why you unsubscribed. Probably the best way to get the message across to them.

Pirate it up till CR gets their licencing straighten out.

Screwed over? Have you got Australia and Austria confused?

Australia: 14/20
Austria: 2/20.

Oh, yeah, I can see how tough the Ozzies have it this season, getting twice as much anime as the US was getting when I first subscribed.

The rumor is that Madman has been working hard to get the rights to this series. If they are, that would be the main reason why the Ozzie rights would have been hard to get for Crunchyroll. It would be a bit much to put all the blame on Crunchyroll if the region rights are being blocked out of Richmond, Victoria.

Actually, why don't you ozzies get on Madman to do a package deal with Crunchyroll?

Yeah and how many years ago was that? Not relevant at all and yes while I pay as much as Americans do for their membership, yet am restricted from multiple anime just for being in the wrong country, I do consider it being "screwed over".

I'd rather not pirate it at all really. I'm sure plenty of people have unsubscribed for the same reason over the years, yet we still have this problem. Don't get me wrong, I get my monies worth from what I pay, it's just annoying to see these problems still happening.

Can you at least watch it on Funnimation? The anime is too good to pass up from the looks of it. I hope your resolve doesn't wavier because you might be tempted to go rogue due to too good a anime you'll be missing out otherwise.

How is it not relevant? The payment was the same for less anime; exactly what you are complaining about.

Here is a question: If the service in Australia were completely separate from the company in the U.S., would you be complaining that you were not getting your money's worth?

A lot of services have this same issue. Netflix's international divisions don't offer the streaming library of the U.S. version. It is a matter of the scale of the number of subscribers.

Funimation's own site is strictly the United States and Canada only. I have seen reports that sometimes episodes they posted to their channel on YouTube were available to some other countries (i.e, UK), but AFAIK, AoT isn't there.

Four years ago, which is long enough ago that the 2009 price would be higher than today's price, if you corrected for inflation. Never mind the exchange rate that is giving Ozzies an automatic discount right now.

Not relevant at all and yes while I pay as much as Americans do for their membership, yet am restricted from multiple anime just for being in the wrong country, I do consider it being "screwed over".

That's the over-the-top exaggeration I am talking about, from someone who gets 70% to 80% of the series that are licensed for the US, and from a country where a free-standing service would struggle to stream six series per season on a subscription of $7/month. Compared to what Australians could get on from a free-standing service, they get a substantial bonus on Crunchyroll.

And even looking at the 20%-30%that are region restricted, compared to what is faced by potential members from the Middle East, or Africa, or Southeast Asia, Ozzies are obviously only being mildly molested.

But the main point is that it is quite likely that it is an Australian company doing the molesting with this particular title. Madman is a home video distributor, cable distributor, and agent for movie theatrical releases ... Crunchyroll is just a streaming site. Crunchyroll just doesn't have the clout to get an Australian license if Madman is negotiating for a series.

Indeed, with Madman having 90%+ of the Ozzie home video / broadcast / move market, if Madman were to simply let its licensing partners know up front that it is fine with Crunchyroll streaming into Australia, and tell them that, going forward, it was seeking non-exclusive streaming rights, it seems likely that a lot of Crunchyroll's license restrictions in Australia would go away.

I hope you get licenses for more countries for this series (as well as for Hunter X Hunter xP). Then I would love to Subscribe as a Premium User again.
