For the people who have played/play DOTA and remember the heroes:

Who was your favorite hero?

Mine is Invoker! Love him every second of the game.

I know that DOTA is still alive and new heroes are being added, but you can just name someone you remember.

In the current meta you can just take magnatar (magnus) and be gauranteed a free win every time. To a much lesser extend nyx assassin (nerubian assassin) and phantom lancer are far too good. I tend to play support because people are greedy and always go straight for carries, shadow demon or rubick are my go to heroes for that, SD is simply the best ganker in the game and scales really well into the late game with his 2 percentile based skills and BKB pierce ult, rubick it goes without saying

Are you talking about Dota 1?

Because the hero that basically cannot lose if it's being controlled by a good player is Warlock. His double ult Infernos just can't be stopped if someone good is playing with him. I rarely see a Warlock lose. If he does, he is usually just controlled by a bad player.

Double inferno ult is supremely counterable.

1) Its 4.2k+5.9k on a support hero, total waste

2) Diffusal basically instantkills gollems

3) Why did you let warlock farm? If you let him of all heroes farm you have bigger issues, give a lonedruid, PL, faceless void etc that much space and you should get screwed up.

Warlock is powerful for sure, but not instant win powerful. He is a good counter to the deathball meta but brings little to the early laning phase, even after he is only up once every 160 seconds, if you have that much trouble with him silencers ult is handily up once every 160 seconds, a silenced warlock cant do anything. I dont think dusas ult works on the gollems but i could be wrong there. Either way there are plenty of counters to him and he isnt instawin, similar concept to PL. Just annoying to fight against in a pub but not actually all that OP if you know how to deal with him. Magnus is OP in top level competitive all the way down to trash tier pubs on the other hand

Enfeeble is actually one of the best skills in the game though, vs a melee hero without magic immunity that completely locks them down for 3-8 seconds depending.

Meh, I would like to answer those questions with "We tried to disable him and gank him a lot", but it gets pretty tough if he has a good sense of map controlling and you can never gank him in the end unless you somehow use smoke to get past the wards (however, he'll easily notice because of MIAs..). I only wish that I could have shown you the warlocks I have played.. the games were just terrible for us. Your strategies all work with heroes that counter Warlock easily, but it's different when you're playing All Random tourneys/scrimmages (left this part out). and yes, a silent warlock can't do anything, but that also requires everyone to focus him and kill him before anything happens. That situation is quite hard to conjure up unless you have other disablers or a good ult from a hero like Void. Usually, a hero like PL can own Infernals because of his diffusal, but a team with a gem and a patient warlock that doesn't call down his second ult until the PL comes close can get rid of that problem easily.

I wouldn't say that the gold you use to get him a refresher + agha is a waste either. Warlock wins many, many games (mainly in pubs though where no one knows how to counter him).

I guess we are both correct when it comes to the correct situations. I would say that a Rubick/PL/Nyx/SD would all be easy to counter in the end, but again - that's only if they're in their own respected environments where they can do well. That said, Magnus is also easy to counter if you have a smart team.

I also love Enfeeble. I can't believe how many people do not use it and just focus on the nuke lifesteal and the sleep(ult/nightmare). Enfeeble and Razor's chain are my favorites. You get a void or naix that get caught by either and they become useless targets. The thing is, if you have either of these heroes that are up against a magnus, it doesn't take much for a smart Razor/Bane to cripple his attack by just simply staying away at a safe distance until he ults in.

I've seen Mag's win games a lot because of his freaking awesome dagger+ult combo, but that's also if he gets a good farm like the Warlock I speak of. Yes, it's less gold he spends until he starts raping people mid game, but that's if the other team isn't smart enough to gank and kill him (and it is not hard to kill a magnus). I'm not disagreeing with you though, Mag is super OP, especially if he has a good other disabler with him (omfg Mag + enigma is SO ANNOYING).

I've lost to Magnus and Enigma more times than I can imagine after I started playing Pinoy kids. It was just impossible when they both hit 6 early game, but I was a noob then so idk.

I guess my reply all boils down to the fact that they both are unstoppable given the enemies' heroes and etc. Personally, I would choose a Warlock over a Magnus in general, but I understand that they are both imba if used correctly.

I can't stand Dota 2 either, I feel like it's not as competitive as D1 and the pace is too slow.

and nooooooooo. You were always that guy I hated (Techies). I'm always that reckless person who will go to the supermined secret shop and get pwned to pieces because of a sly, pro techies.
