Gargantia has the best story/characters so far, but the weakest mech design. The opening battle was a visual mess, but the second half of ep 1 really pulled it out.

Valvare has the best mech design, and an iffy story though the ep 1 plot twist may turn it into something good. Still, its hard to ignore how badly contrived the story was before the twist.

Majestic Prince is pretty awful though. Its sort of low budget 90's animation look combined with a story that's silly without being entertaining / funny and characters I couldn't give a rat's ass about has sunk it off my queue now. The show doesn't seem to know what it wants to be nor have the skill to execute it successfully.

I have to say that Gargantia is pretty awesome. Everything from the setting and story, to the art is just spot on. Valvrave has me on the fence right now. The main mech looks awesome and has cool abilities, but it is a typical mecha anime except for the resigning as a human, and the ending. Those two items could make Valvrave very interesting. I haven't seen majestic prince yet, so I can't really comment on it, but I noticed that the opinion of it seems to be split.

I actually really enjoyed valvrave, but i have to agree Gargantia is the best one so far. Is Gargantia gonna have a lot of mech action though?

Valrave episode 1 spoilers:

Yeah thats true. I just meant typical in the sense that the main character stumbles across the mech when they need it the most. As well as the fact that the main character usually has someone or some ideal to protect and accomplishes this goal via the use of the mobile suit that they inherit. Also the antagonist usually seems to say something in regards to how humanity should work according their views, such as the silver haired guy with the knife said. I agree that it does seem like a darker anime in regards to the love interest possibly dying in the fist episode, and the whole resign as a human being thing.

Mecha vs mecha... nope. OP mecha vs somthing.... Yup. So if you mean we have mecha action in that Ledo spins up his annihilation mecha to destroy stuff. OH, yes we are going to have quite a bit of that.

Gargantia looks interesting, Valvrave promising, but will wait till ep 2 to reserve judgement. I didn't finish ep 1 of Majestic Prince; it looked pretty generic, which isn't for me.

Well so far I am very impressed with Urobuchi's mecha anime Suisei no Gargantia. I was really looking forward to see how his writting on this one goes.So far I am very impressed.
Amazing animation ,very good editing , story is interesting, different mecha concept , very nice soundtract, excellent quality all around. Its like I was watching a movie.

The second placer would be Valvrave but I rate it much lower in comparison to above. Some things doesnt make sense also , animation is not bad, however... the twist in the end of episode 1 is intriguing.

And last the Majestic Prince Gundam.

Somehow it felt like a high school comedy anime with mecha on the side however the second episode got serious when they were challenged which kinda got me confused as to what dirrection they are heading .

At first I dont like the art and thats what stopped me from watching it ....but when I forced myself to watch it ,it actually caught me by surprise that the characters has the odd couple chemistry, which was different from all the dramatic Gundam I have seen . So hopefully they can keep up with the comedy .

I am just happy that there are mecha this season.
