Bro, wtf is that?? I have the same bug in my basement and garage as well. They didn't appear until like two years ago. They freak me out so bad.

Apparently it is a type of centipede. The only time I've seen them is in my garage at like 3 in the morning. They are fast as hell.

Did you squish it?

Also...I often wonder if the bugs get in my room and watch me while I sleep...or bite me...
This is also why I squish them like fruit gushers.

Yeah I see small ones from time to time in my garage or basement, but I took a picture of this one because it was so big, and right on the wall next to my door.

Right? I always think that if I let them live, they'll bite me out of spite for pitying them. Plus, they don't pay rent. Why would I let them stay?

Sleep was too mainstream anyways.

If you can take a better picture, I may be able to tell you what it is. Take the picture in a well-lit area, and take one with and one without flash. Also, the pic seems a little out of focus. Instead of holding it up, place it on a light colored paper. Tape it so that when you take the pic, it is a pic of it looking down on it's back, not the side or it's belly.

Looks kind of like a crane fly to me.

Harmless but creepy, they can get pretty big and have an annoying tendency to fly right at you.

You could, but I don't think that would be legal, so it's better off sending dead. It might be an invasive species or something....don't wan't to screw up the ecosystem. Anyway, once you've had a millipede walk over your foot, a clear scorpion in your room at night, snakes & gators in your yard, cockroaches crawl up your leg (not giving a damn you're there), seen a spider as large as your hand come out of the vent and disappear back into the attic, have to remove tics off of someone, & be a living host to chiggers in your ankles..etc..(I camp in the woods too)....you kind of don't have so much of a fear of stuff like that. You do however become pretty quick at killing stuff.

Imagine THIS in your slumber bag:
