I'm a grade 12 student currently in the IB diploma program...

and I'm currently in the process of getting my Canadian university acceptances... but not all have accepted me yet, so I'm freaking out.

I have a predicted grade (IB terms) of 36, which roughly translates to a 93% or 95% average...

I have been accepted in University of Toronto's Rotman School of Commerce and Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business.... BUT the University of British Columbia's Science program still hasn't accepted me :'(

Does anyone have experience getting into Canadian universities? More specifically UBC?

Does anyone remember their grade averages and the schools they got into?

and Is any one also currently applying to universities? OHHHHH anyone going to any of my listed schooolsss??

OHOH one more question: Does anyone know the conditional acceptance requirements UT and UBC? Ordinary Grades or IB points?

arughhh I'm so stressed right now! Shannnkss to anyone that can help meee

I don't have experience with ones in Canada (currently doing post-grad in NZ), but with a 95% average, I'm sure you'll be totally fine.

How convenient, I'm a first year UBC student who just clicked this article out of sheer boredom. But I applied in arts, I think I was accepted partially because I was from America, my SAT score was 1960, my ACT was like 25, my grades weren't all that impressive, but I got in anyways and cheap since i'm a Canadian citizen. I think you'll have an advantage if you are an outside student rather than someone who lives in UBC but from what I can tell, your credentials look good but there is more too it than that such as your essay and your extra corricular activities.

oh hahahaha, no I'm Canadian

I think I screwed up on my essay... :'( Oh how's Totem VS the other dorm building?
I lived in Totem for a week and I hated the shared shower thing going on...

I'm applying this year too! I'm a Canadian too and I got into UBC. I go to school in the US though so that may have helped in some way. Your IB grades look pretty good. I didn't do IB though so I'm not sure about this, but I think yours are better than some of my IB friends who got into schools like Carnegie Mellon o.o

You should be fine getting into UBC.

If you are accepted, just don't slack off too much. Keep your grades at about the same level as they were before and you shouldn't have any problems.
Otherwise, my advice is to just not think about it. Think about the acceptances you do have. No amount of stress is going to change anything at this point so go have fun. Hang out with friends, play some sports, draw, write, play video games, whatever you do in your spare time. Don't spend the waning months of your childhood stressing about adulthood. You have decades upon decades to do that.

If you're curious about anything else, PM me. I'll try to answer you as best as I can

Well I live in Place Vanier and it's more important on which building you get rather than whether or not it's Totem or Vanier. I live in a 6 story tall building so we got an elevator while the other buildings don't, we also have shared bathroom and showers. I heard there are a few new buildings in Totem that have showers just for 2 people, but over all, since I never lived in Totem, I can't really compare them, they are kind of the same. But i'm leaving Vanier in 2 days after my exams are done and then heading for Marine Drive for 2nd year. But I guess Vanier is newer so I'll just recommend that, but there wasn't much of a difference for me, the building is the most important part.

I never really checked where the science building was but either way, the distance between Vanier and Totem is about maybe a 3 minute walk. And my averages were like A's, B's, and C's. Somewhere around a 3.2 GPA. But there's more to it than GPA.

I seem to have missed the whole point of this topic. I thought you were asking for our grades..

Fail me.

Erased what I had.

GPA means nothing here, I got a 95% average and only managed to get into a mediocre college. Isn't that just fantastic?

Lordy Lordy Lordy. I shouldn't have even clicked this thread let alone reply to it. ._.
Well Im a sophmore with 19. some number credits. In my school you need 44 credits to graduate and I will have 26 credits by the end of this term. But that's just a matter of passing and failing. My grades are shit. XD only because I'm so damn lazy and don't really care. Only excelling in things I want to like Social Study classes and science and music. For ever spawning a average of 75 every report card while my friends have 80 averages. I live in New York and being "college ready" requires a lot of shit. I plan on going to a wrestling college once I leave high school but majoring business cause I still a need a "back up" >.>
Why school be simple like in anime where I can arrive, sleep and leave and still pass guarantee?

My ideology doesn't fit here either, eventually, my ideology leads to me owning a small house by the beach in Rosarito and just enjoying the things I like to do without a worry of bills/loans/etc. It's free spirited.

My level of effort in High School got me a 2.3gpa, and good friends to cherish life with.
Which to me, is all that really matters.

I'm currently attending a community college for my associates, I have a part time job, and a decent car I own.
and dang do I set low standards.

If you want school like that go to Britain, our compulsory education upto 18 is pathetically easy, I did literally no work for 7 years and came out with the highest grades you can get
