Fairy Tail has never been in "The Big Three", no matter how much some wanted it to be.
"The Big Three" will always be the same, One Piece, Naruto and Bleach.
That doesn't change just becaus one of them stops airing.

Of course we here on CR, or other forums can name other anime as The Big Three, but in Japan they'll always be the same.
It's probably becaus of the success of those 3, sales, etc.

I think it was the westerns who picked the "big three".
Because in Japan, sales-wise and tv ratings-wise,
One Piece, DBZ and HxH at their peaks were much bigger than Naruto and Bleach at their peaks.
And Fairy Tail isn't really that big.

Anyway, OP and HxH haven't peaked yet so I'm happy.

I know Magi only has 181 chapters now, but does anyone feel like it has a possibility to be produced weekly after season 2? Does it not have enough material or do we have to just wait and see?

I love HXH and I do see it as a possibility of becoming part of the "Big 3" only if the manga wasnt on hiatus all the time. For now i'm looking for those anime with that kind of potential. One Piece is my all time favorite anime/manga and I consider it a masterpiece lol so HXH just needs some more eps and more time to know if it is.

Of Course. While Naruto is all about doing random "ninja" shit that WASN'T suppose to be added on a NINJA and not to mention predictable plots. Or One Piece, which is run like, forever with 500 episodes and god who knows when they actually found the damn thing already. HunterXHunter seemed kept the action and story pieces going, without going overboard with pointless filters.

Who knows. Maybe Shounen Jump may found HxH as the manga/anime version of FOX Broadcasting.

In other words, as the BIG FOUR: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece & Hunter X Hunter. lol

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to anime.
Sailor Moon outsold and is more popular than all minus OP.
Hell, My Neighbor Totoro is more popular than Bleach.

of course i do mainly because its a god. but the dynamics of the show doesn't fit in to the big three, it deserve a seperate category. to be honest if toriko was more popular it would fit into the big three much more easily. i still consider HxH to be a big three but it doesn't fit in, it should be in the godly list along of with detective conan and one piece. shows that would basically never die, unless the author can't continue the show for some reason.

so hopefully by summer the open spot for the big three will be filled.

I could definitely see it being one of the "big three". The show is very entertaining to watch as is, and this chimera ant arc seems to be getting some big hype.

Hunter X Hunter is just a redo of the old. It's not nothing new. You can't place it in the same group as the top. That's like someone redoing Dragonball Z for the third time and calling it a top three.
