Seriously, if you loved the turn based strategy of Valkyria Chronicles, go out and get X-Com - Enemy Unknown!
I had overlooked this when it came out - too busy, caught up in Borderlands 2, etc.

Got around to downloading the free demo late last week and was instantly impressed and bought the game immediately.

While based on the ideas of the original game (I played one on the PC many, many years ago), this game also draws heavily on the strategy elements that made Valkyria Chronicles great. It is made by Firaxis / 2k, who as many will know did an amazing job on their console adaptation Sid Meier's Civilization when they made Civilization: Revolution.

The attention to detail, extreme polish, and overall captivating nature of this game is not to be missed!

Enjoy ... (you can try the demo for free)

PS: For those people who only loved the "anime" style cell-shading of VC - sorry, this game doesn't have that, and there's no attaching a "J" to this game.

Sounds interesting, I've heard good reviews from this game so I might give it a shot. It's just sad to see that Sega did not release Valkyria Chronicles 3 to the west and Europe.

Yes, and the free demo really gives you a good test of the game. In terms of research / upgrades it goes quite a bit deeper than VC.

Re: VC3 in English ... I'm still stinging that 2 and 3 aren't on the PS3 at all. I never got a PSP or Vita ... never really needed a portable gaming system ...

Valkyria was loved by gamers and critics alike. I will always wonder why in hell they didn't give us a sequel...

At least the replayability is pretty good. And I'm not sure I can ever get sick of Rosie + Raum tearing up the map ....

Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 were made for PSP. But 3 was never localized.

I know (snif snif), which makes it even worse because I don't own a PSP, and as far as I know (or heard of) unless I jailbreak my PS3 I cannot emulate PSP for those games. Sad and Sad.
