I kept watching but I kept not really liking it and hoped something would "catch." Never did. Except the ED; somehow I kept liking that and it would even go through my head at various random times during the week.. So was that really the last episode? Pretty lackluster, but not surprising given the rest of the show.

I agree. Keys review was pretty well done. I rate it a bit higher and gave my reasons in the comments over there. My full review will be in my blog soon, as well.

Picked this back up since I'm sad about running out of things to watch as the season is ending. And I just wanted to say that THE SHOUJO IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE. More than any other anime I can remember watching, anyway.

The background animation is quite pretty though, especially when they're visiting temples and shrines and things. And I also definitely feel better about Miyuki's character. I was rather furious with him at first, but now he's just a rose bush.

Not used to seeing guys as tsunderes that much I guess. XD

My only real gripe so far is I have a hard time reconciling Izumiko Suzuhara with her seiyuu (Saori Hayami). Something about it doesn't seem to sit right. But I'm so used to her being Miho Azuki in Bakuman, maybe it's just dissociative.

Edit: Actually, if I think of RDG being in the Bakuman universe and Miho Azuki being the seiyuu, it helps.

I liked it, but it suffered from poor pacing and development. The animation, without question, was excellent. This is definitely a shoujo since the main point and focus is on Izumiko's relationships. My problem is that I didn't feel her growth was especially believable, especially her ultimate "fate".

I could see it being a pain to watch in installments, but it was very smooth to marathon. When I got to the end I was surprised I'd just finished the entire cour, I haven't been able to marathon much of anything that easily recently.

I thought episode 8 looked especially good.

Her character development was pretty fast when it finally came, but I just went with it.
