Love CR. I've become an anime fiend thanks to this website. I visit often even for news however...at the end of every single article it always says something like "Check it after after the jump..."

What does this mean and what is "the jump"?

Been driving me crazy.

Anyone using this supposes that their audience isn't familiar with the concept of a hyperlink, or attempts to make the act of clicking on one some kind of novel or interesting internet superhighway 'experience'.

its just a fun way of saying click the link

It's in reference to the way newsposts are often organized, and definitely not just on this site. In a newspaper, one might get the headline and a few initial paragraphs, but the rest of the story is on a later page of that section, so the other articles won't get pushed too far back. Of course, if an event is major enough, one article may get all or almost all of the front page. Similarly, rather than post the full articles on one long page, which would leave many headlines lost in all the scrolling, we have a headline, part of the article, and a link to read all of each post.

It works well enough for newsposts with multiple videos or images, compared to the alternative.
