It would depend if it meant saving another persons life if it would I would try not to think twice, even if it was for a person without a family.

I have spent most of my life trying to change others, I've been happy doing that for a long time, I feel as though my efforts are having only a small impact sometimes but I can definitely notice it especially at work. It makes me feel as though my life has more meaning.

I would throw a child and a pregnant woman off a lifeboat if it meant saving myself. Ain't self preservation grand? In fact i'd throw an entire boat full of pregnant women into the ocean to save myself.

If you're willing to be patient, honest, respect and care for others and their opinion, regardless of how they may treat you, and be willing to give yourself for others people notice that, sometimes after a massive or long period of disbelief.

I thought we were talking about the policy of "women and children first" and if you would be willing to give up your seat in a lifeboat or not. Although I think they've changed the policy to make it more about keeping families together.

As for why our friend Zenairis is bearing his soul...I got nothin',

I figured this was more of a post of would you give up your life for another and why. Not so much a would you give up a real seat on a life boat.

Edit: I've heard that term used in that manner many times, that and I'm around people who are general more so than normal "Go cut down that tree" and the person points to a forest.

Ohhhhh gotcha lol.

On-topic: Well, I feel like anyone can sit here safetly in front of a computer and type on a forum, "Yeah, I'd totally take a bullet/give up a place on a lifeboat if the situation called for it." But if you were really in that dire of a situation would you REALLY? I'd like to think I would lol but who knows what the situation would be. A child takes top priority above anyone else, though. They still have a whole life to live unlike the older people.

From my experience i know that I'd do it, even calmly. I'm not one to be rushed by fear. Even though, I'd say out of pure evil thoughts that everyone should die at my expense..kids included. When it comes down to it, i tend to contradict my words with my actions.

I wouldn't.

I love you faux-altruists. You keep deluding yourselves, and in doing so, you make me feel better about myself for being honest.

Though admittedly, I'd give my sister my spot on the boat. My mother too if she wanted it, but I'm certain she wouldn't.

I am a selfish bastard. I wouldn't give up my seat very easily. I have a whole life left ahead of me too. That would be my argument. BUT as stated previously....who knows really? You won't until your ass is stranded in freezing, shark infested waters with a bunch of other party goers on your ill fated Carnival cruise. You won't catch MY black ass out on the ocean either way.

I would for a family member, but a random stranger....I honestly can't say yes for sure.
