For a family member or a good friend I'd consider it. A complete stranger I'd say there is a 99% chance that I would say no way, in less you happen to have issue #1 of Batman that would would trade and I had time to read it. There is just no way of knowing what kind of person that stranger is and to be honest I like myself way more than that stranger.

All man for himself... sorry.
Unless that person is a family or friend...

I would absolutely give up my seat on a lifeboat for another person. I've always gone out of my way to make sure that other people are placed before me, in all sorts of situations (including the current on-going one I'm in). I believe that I'd rather give up my seat on a lifeboat for another person as I'd most likely be able to fend for myself. Many people out there haven't a clue how to take care of themselves (not just minors/children or women - stop being ageist/sexist!); ergo, I'd rather place them on a "certain" scenario where they'd have a higher chance of survival.

There are a few people I'd give up my seat for.

Everyone else better hope they're strong swimmers.

Hahaha! no. Hell no!

Unless it's someone I know that is to weak to survive, then yes.

Death isn't so bad, it beats surviving with more lame humans who are into saving their own selfish lives just to learn more nothing.

I would learn lots of things... such as how buoyant children and pregnant women are and what it's like not to freeze to death/drown/get eaten by sharks.

That would depend on the person trying to get my spot.

They lived through a traumatic situation and got to return home to their families and loved ones. Maybe you couldn't live with yourself but i'd do anything to make it back to the people I care about. I might not ever be the same after that, and it might take a couple years with a really good therapist to get to a point where I didn't have issues, but i'd be alive with people I loved and as far as i'm concerned that beats being dead to me.

For me it really depends on who's there and when this may happen. There are very few people in my life I would give up my seat for and if this happened tomorrow I wouldn't think twice about denying a stranger my seat. That's not to say my mind can't change in the future.
