I've this thread after seeing the "Men Discussion" get locked. The post made by the mod brought up the adult content Forum rule and it got me wonder.(NOTE: I found the thread after the fact and have no opinion on it's being locked one way or the other.)
Since I can't ask in the thread named "Site & Forum Rules," because it's locked. I'll ask here and hope a mod can answer.

Rule #3. Adult content of any kind has no place in the forums.

Are the details of what's adult content written down somewhere or does each mod have their own ideas as to what constitutes adult content? If so, how are we to know how each mod thinks?
Someone people have more delicate sensibilities than others and some aren't so easily offended by taboo subjects.

In the detailed rules, it says nudity, that's obvious, but you'd think swear words would be considered adult content, and yet they're accepted.

Rule #2 was that things should be kept PG-13, but in PG-13 movies/TV they can show the naked butt, as well as art which depicts nudity, such as paintings, which contradicts Rule #3's 'No Nudity.'
Also in PG-13 movies and TV shows, some swear words are acceptable and some are not.
PG-13 movies and TV shows have very blurry lines as to what's adult content and what's not, that's why they have an active orginization who's entire job is to regulates and makes judgement, which adapts it's rules through time as society becomes more accepting of the previously unacceptable.

In short, it'd be nice for a detailed definition of the term and/or a list of things that are not acceptable, if you want people to know if and when they're about to break forum rules on no adult content.

When you are the Admin or mods you can change the rules as you seat fit and lie, throw a fit and threaten once you are caught...(looks at how society is being structured) Gee I wonder how society is learning these types of dis respectful hypocrisy. I find it hilarious and childish that grown adults who are given any responsibility abuse it almost immediately now..because double standards are accepted & tolerated.

The rules are intentionally vague so that it's left up to the moderator's discretion on what is and isn't breaking a rule. Not unlike the US Constitution actually.

A very simple definition that a mod suggested was this:

Would you show it / talk about it with your mother?

I think we all can agree that talking about masturbation techniques have no room on a forum that strives to be PG-13.

Beyond that, common sense really.

If you are still uncertain about the limits of the rules, feel free to state some examples.

Contrary to your statement, we don't change the rules on simple whims. It is discussed with the entire moderator team before anything is decided. I must admit, I don't recognize the situation you are trying to paint when it comes to the moderator team's behaviour. It would be much appreciated if you didn't make comments with no root in reality.

If the rules were not somewhat vague, they would be crazy long with examples of everything that is not allowed.

That's what I said.

And like the US Constitution there does seem to be some rather big differences between what one person considers borderline and what one person considers to be a problem. Mods are like police officers, and no matter how much oversight there is you still end up with ego trippers who abuse their power or act overly protective when it comes to dealing with things that may be considered "offensive".

Personally I blame the outsourced Indian mods for all the wrong doing.

Just as there are "ego tripper" types, there' s also completely stupid users. Plenty of examples to go around.

Playing coy I see. You don't fool me though, I know that you've only got about 3 real admins/moderators on here and the rest are outsourced to Indian people with a tenuous grasp of the English language. It's more efficient for the site because they work 18 hour shifts for 35 cents a day. Or maybe you're being honest about not knowing and your superiors don't trust you enough with this information.

I obviously can't introduce you to them because it's a very hush hush affair that the owner of the domain would like to keep hidden. I know they exist though because all the mildly successful internet sites use them.

"Would you show it / talk about it with your mother?"

Some moms smoke weed or drink alcohol with their kids, so it depends on the mom.

and on cr it depends on the mod.

Where in that paragraph did I said state that I was talking about Crunchyroll mods and admins?? Which proves how being vague helps with people jumping to their own conclusions and perceiving things as what they actually are not. I was referring to sites I've visited and been a part of and had to leave because of that behavior. Thank you for jumping to conclusions very fast while getting defensive about it. Just state in the rules "Don't challenge anything we say or else" so that it will make it easier for people not to comment and piss you guys off. People have their own opinions and while you or others may not agree as there are times I don't agree with others, this is still a site where we "PAY" to come and talk about different subjects, pop culture, anime, and sometimes real life things. So unless people can start getting along and realizing we are all not the same and don't think the same your site is no different than the rest when you can pick and choose who you like or do not like. So just by showing you don't care about the people who "PAY" for this site like myself by not even trying to be hospitable and come up with a solution to the problems I will take my money and my business elsewhere.

I guess if you can gather enough "PAY"-ing users and bring up this grievance to the front office something is bound to change.
