Hello. Anyone who is reading this should be curious about "Oreimo" aka Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii wake ga nai (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute). Currently the second season of the show is currently airing in Japan and is simulcasting on Crunchyroll. The second season is going after the True Path route of the show, which is the alternative to the Good End of Oreimo Season 1 episode 12. The True Path are OVA's that goes through a different route and is the prequel to the second season. There are many things that the viewer may not know about that are mentioned or shown in the second season (ie. School, Classmates, Clubs, Kissing, Kirino, etc).

Crunchyroll does not have these current OVA's and so many people who would want to watch them for the knowledge of the second season would have to go through the means of illegal fan-subs or pay the hefty $300 for the blu-ray version of the show (maybe $50 for the dvd but aren't we in the future of hd? btw I am not hating on DVDs since they are good and affordable). Crunchyroll should stream these OVA so Aniplex can get the money they deserve instead of loosing to fan-subs.

We should petition to Aniplex (the publisher) to make sure they add the OVA's to Crunchyroll soon. We could send them a nice infomative e-mail or something like that.

AKA. If one of the catalog titles are the OVA's, we should just forget about this idea... It is a possiblity that it is the OVAs because we should assume that Uta no Prince sama and Samurai Bride season 1 are the other two things...

Well if you're not picky you can pay 44.98 for the regular DVD's at Rightstuf's website. http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/oWDode=YwCRx-SKpsW/browse/item/95259/4/0/0

It has all 12 episodes plus the 4 OVA's.

aren't these OVAs included on the DVDs/BlueRays? it needs to be explained!!

I think it is because they initially aired on the shows site and were therefore not included when Crunchyroll was showing the first season.

Since at the time of the OVA release the second season probably was not even green-lit yet I would assume they did not get them at the time due to the fact they were not as important when there was only one season.

However since there is now a second season and you need the specials to understand it they should probably add the specials.
The problem I can see is that they will probably have to get a separate license for the Specials since they don't have them already, and that will cost them a bit.

Although if you cannot justify the purchase of the specials then there is always 'the alternative'.

Have you tried making this suggestion in the Premium Members forum as well? There should be a thread/topic there for you to ask CR to look into picking up the OVAs. Might be worth doing along with your petition efforts.

Good luck.

I agree. The whole set up for the second season is completely based off the "good ending' OVAs, not the finale of season 1. You can find them if you look, but I would like for them to be here for the sake of continuity.

Yeah this whole season I've felt kind of badly for people who haven't seen those OVA's yet and had no idea what is going on.

It would definitely be beneficial to get those for streaming, however unlikely that will be.

I've noticed that Crunchyroll rarely (if ever) post OVAs. Many programs (Nakaimo, Mitsudomoe, and PapaKiki, to name a few) have OVAs and aren't on Crunchyroll.

While I wish you luck, I'll also say don't hold your breath. Buying the DVD is your best choice, that's what I did.

Some parts of S2 just didn't make any sense. Would be nice if Crunchyroll added these OVAs otherwise I would have to go a different route.

Crunchyroll got the Durarara OVAs but it took a while... Oreimo and Durarara are both Aniplex so I hope they add them. Also Aniplex is a partner of Crunchyroll so thats a bonus...

Yeah. Crunchyroll on a regular basis only show broadcast episodes of anime and ovas are dvd/bluray exclusives which arent in broadcast...

My issue particularly with Oreimo right now is the fact there isn't (at least to my knowledge, if I'm wrong please correct me) a U.S. Blu-Ray box set available at the moment. And as much as I love the series and want to see the OVAs, buying DVDs for my HDTV isn't something I really look forward to. Importing the JPN Blu-Ray release is also out of the question for me...

I figure the absence of OVAs from streaming services like CR is the publishing companies' incentive for you and I to buy the box set after watching an entire series by streaming...

If you live in America, Aniplex of America is currently selling an import of Oreimo for Bluray. They thing is they price... It's $300... Is it worth it? Yes. But will you most likely spend all that money for 12 + 4 episodes...? No...

That is for you, the consumer to decide. I buy imports and $300 is pretty much the going rate for a season worth of anime imports. Aniplex prices their imports and North American releases the same while Sentai, et al offer much cheaper boxed sets.
